You know i think it should be a rule, an interference engine gets a chain
not a belt. And the water pump gets driven by the regular drive belt not
the timmimg belt. I want to find engineers sometimes and give them a good
talking to. On a car with the water pump driven by a drive belt if it
seizes up the worst that happens is you get a new pump and serpentine belt.
One of these water pumps locks up you get a new engine because valves and
pistons collide.
Just a quick question I have an 05 at 127k and the guy said I need to get
that done and want to charge 475 to do it am I getting ripped off please
help. Thank you

There is absolutely no need to remove the valve cover! Thanks for nothing
again! Sorry I’m wrong as MrsChrisCraft pointed out. In the video it says
the valve cover gasket needs to be changed to prevent oil contamination on
the timing belt.
I’ve done this job before. Brian did an EXCELLENT job of filtering all of
the possible information into a concise “get ‘er done” video – with nothing
more then OUR help in mind. He’s not taking all the extra time to make
these videos with an eye solely focused on himself… duh! He’s doing them
for US!
So before anyone struts their stuff and starts pounding their chest in
criticizing him for technical shortcomings, consider the overall picture.

For a guy who wants feedback about all you did wrong, you sure don’t answer
any of it. In fact you hide the feedback. You are causing a lot of grief
with this video. Why not use the feedback and correct your many mistakes.
Another thing I hate about FWD !
Anyone who gives a thumbs up to this video has not followed it to do the
work. Also thumbs down to Honda. If the top of the motor mount was just 4mm
lower, there would have been no need to touch the alternator or power
steering pump or motor mount. Also, each bolt seems to need its own tool
because the space is so tight. I’m going to buy a Stanley rotator ratchet
and see if that tool can solve all the bolt access problems.
who “how”:
Good job on a one man video. You could consider a hat, forehead or eyeglass
type camera to free up your other hand. Also pre mounting small high power
lights to help eliminate a need for flashlights. Try TigerDirect or other
sites for affordable items like that. I joined Bizrate (a business member
club on TigerDirect and get even better prices, even on sale items). Anyway
thanks for helping me to see what I’m in for when I change my 2007 civic EX
timing belt soon. I’ve already got about 140K miles on it. Keep up the

Hey Great vid. I tried removing the tensioner bolt with a 14mm socket but
some how managed to stuff the head of the bolt. Any ideas on how I could
remove the bolt now?
the person watching this video has had a wrench in there hand before I
would think nobody gives a shit where you live they just want you to get to
important things like timing marks and other things that will help get the
job done your vid was frustrating for me to watch because the important
info was at the end but sorry I called you a douschbag i was having a bad
