If the starter spins but doesn’t extend is it still a bad starter?
Where’d you get your hub caps? The ones on mine are ugly and are flaking.
This would be a bad habit/workflow to adopt.. There's no way in hell I'm gonna be under a car while someone try's turning it over. Do that enough times and sooner or latter you could be wishing you didn't. …… Use the end of a breaker bar as an extension from above if ya can at least. Tap that with a hammer.

Correct this is how I do it
I showed my buddy this trick and when he went to LA to pick up his gf who was in med school, the starter quit when they stopped for gas on Interstate 5. He crawled under his oldie Explorer, bopped the starter while she held the key and it fired right up. She was amazed because a few years back he was a book worm…but I taught him real manly skills.
Can't do that on todays starters, it breaks the permanent magnet inside and voids getting the core charge back
