Hey buddy thanks for the diy, but can you also include how to bleed the air
and refilling powersteering fluid.

Fixbook says:

@danielstoverify No, theres no special equipment required, I think the say
something like you want to be able to push the belt down half an inch or
something like that. and one thing I left out, ALWAYS use Honda power
Steering fluid. I will annotate it haha. If you don’t use Honda fluid it
will fail.

Fixbook says:

Why do you thing you need to bleed it? It should bleed itself on its own.

Fixbook says:

lol that’s different

Fixbook says:

Yes, and thank you for your comment.

“More power steering fluid will go everywhere, and it will be awesome…”
It wasn’t awesome, it wasn’t awesome AT ALL! Oh God, it’s EVERYWHERE…

Enrique Guzman says:

Great vid man, I subbed. I have a 98 civic hatch and was wondering just how
hard is it to drive without power steering? I have a leak somewhere and was
just gonna take the belt off just until I have a free weekend to check it.

Celicakidd says:

honda pwr steering fluild only.

MrStr8xrippin says:

a man do you have a video of how to remove ac unit? and if i do remove ac
unit do i have to remove power steering as well? thank man

Boghman22 says:

Hey, I have a concern. About 4 months ago, I had my rack and pinion
changed, but the mechanic used automatic transmission fluid. Well, I’ve
gotta change the ps pump now and have ordered genuine honda ps fluid. Will
there be any significant damage done to my rack after being driven about 3k
miles with the at fluid then switched with genuine fluid?

jermainezey says:

the bleeding is easy a i have a 95 honda accord lx v6 i just replace the
water pump and i had to take powersteering pump off the way i bleed mines i
jack the front off the car off the ground just so the tires not fully on
the ground filled it with fuild and with the

Curi0u50ne says:

Is there any issues driving it without the PS belt?

frankie41491 says:

thnx for the help and tips.

Fixbook says:

No I don’t have a video like that. You must have an A/C recovery machine to
remove the refrigerant in order to work on any part of the closed A/C
system. Almost no DIY persons will have that machine, so that’s why I don’t
do any A/C videos.

dan3nad says:

NO your gonna have to replace whole rack & pinion, the pump & all hoses
that the oil went threw…hahahaa NO bro im just jokin… just drain old
fluid & put Honda oem youl be fine… ive been building Hondas for 16
years.. trust me u worry 2 much

Tris Fnix says:

helpful vid. As a rule of thumb, if the distance pulley center to pulley
center is between 7 and 11 inches the belt should deflect 1/4. If the
distance is 12 to 16 inches apart, the belt should deflect 1/2 for a vbelt
and 1/4 for a ribbed belt

danielstoverify says:

loved the vid…very helpful. might i suggest having someone else hold the
camera? there isn’t anything you need to do once the belt is back on? do
you need special equipment to know if it is tight enough or can you just
estimate?

Fixbook says:

Oh, ok. That’s good info, thanks for your helpful comment.

Fixbook says:

It’s not to hard to drive without it (at least that’s how I feel).
Although, I do think, if you try that, there is a possibility of damaging
your rack and pinion, because I believe fluid flows to areas in there which
helps lubricate it. So, long term it may be bad to do.

jermainezey says:

u welcome if u try to bleed and it still getting air in there then u will
need to replace the oring inside the lines where it hook to the pump they
cost 1.00 here in alabama at the honda dealer ship
