Ghost says:

I just bought an ‘09 MDX with 89k miles on it. The Honda dealer changed the timing belt (comes in a kit, so tensioner, water pump, something else, etc.) anyhow, it has been running pretty well so far! Fingers crossed for the future!

If I could get Scotty Kilmers to work on my car I would pack up the Hash Pipe with Rocky and get all schmoked up.

Bill Gund says:

Re moly oil. Remember back in the late 70's ARCO had graphite impregnated oil.

B Muns says:

Because of watching your videos I change my oil every 5K miles on my VW. Dealer uses Castrol synthetic. My car burned much less oil after converting to Liqui Moly after the first oil change when I bought it used at 50K miles. It burns btw .05 to 1.0 qt btw oil changes now. And the engine runs much smoother and still lively at 200K miles. I will always put LM in my future gas powered cars until I buy battery car.

Craig says:

I'm going to bet it needs a valve adjustment, not a timing belt. If the belt was never changed then you know the valves were never adjusted. People say it's not ticking they don't need adjusting. The valves get too tight. I have seen it many times.

Robert D. says:

My 2017 j35 uses a belt

Lord Alfred Dela Cruz says:

Hey Scotty! I have a 2015 Dodge Charger SE with 120k miles. Never saw the check engine light on until I got the serpentine belt replaced to a new one. Three days later, the check engine light came on. OBD reader reads fault code P0128. Everything seems normal, I don’t feel anything out of the ordinary. Where should I start diagnostics? Thank you

Ken Corrneti says:

My sister had an old Corolla with close to 200,000 miles and was feeling unsure of it, not wanting to break down on the road. She is older, and afraid of someone accosting her. My advise was, "don't do it!" So, she 'saved' about $3000 and bought a Suzuki. Well, after 3 months and 3 warranty transmissions, she traded for a Corolla. Personally, I HATE spending 'stupid' money!

Juarezzz says:

i have a honda pilot 2006 and in the mornings it feels like it wants to shut off when i drive off

KY LE says:

so did you change the timing belt

Franklin Steen says:

Just did second timing belt at 192k($$) and eliminated VCM with no loss in fuel mileage. Drives like new! If your mileage does drop 10%, drive 68 mph instead of 75.

cbunix23 says:

Just an FYI, Tesla is cherry picking engineers from Honda, offering big buck California salaries and remote work. Honda has lost many engineers, projects are slowing down or shelved. Tesla is doing to Honda what Cisco/Google did to AT&T 20 years ago.

Bill Marquis says:

Scotty why do imply Honda has a dirty secret rather then a V6 Honda with 160000 miles has a problem. By the way what was the secret maybe the timing belt streak ?

Tim Brown says:

FYI Scotty Honda is still currently running a belt on the 3.5 liter, my parents 2020 MDX has it.
