In today’s video we take a look at a 2008 Honda Pilot w/ a 3.5l V6 engine. The owners complaint is that the engine has a random misfire and is stumbling during idle. The shop connected a scan tool and found that there were no trouble codes stored in the ECM. In this video I show you how to use your scan tool to identify misfiring cylinders and how to fix dreaded ghost misfires!

Excellent video.
I would add that on Hondas you should do the PCM Reset that's in the scan tool, then do the CKP relearn and idle relearn.
Tremendous ! Among the many excellent teaching methods you employ to help us learn one of them that’s really helpful is how you explain to us viewers each step of hooking up tools / equipment . Thanks for the dedication in our education !
excellent video always
Great video. Regarding the thinkdiag 2, it's a good tool to have however, xtool a30m does it more for no subscription required and free for life. Give us a review of it please.
Great video Eric – thanks!
Great video! Thanks for taking us along with you, Eric!
Hi, I want to program a CCM on a car that didn't come with one. its a 22 bronco with everything except CCM.
hardware and wiring is in place. I also have all appropriate values for different module addresses.
Is there a tool that you would recommend that would initiate a blank CCM. I head the IDS wont do it since the vin came without CCM. Any help would be appreciated.
Straight to the point, great video. You got a new SUB.
Simply amazing…
You forgot one more item in Honda's particularly, the valves w/ time they get tight and can caused miss fires and other problems w/ no check engine light.
I was told to look at the MAP sensor value at operating temperature and anything higher than 0.85 volts indicates tight valves.
Couldn't you use the scanner to compare the injectors? Select all the injectors and graph them.
U are talking way 2 fast..Calm down plz..
Always great videos Eric, thank you!
great stuff, thanks for headsup on think diag, got one ordered, been looking for this type of tool for quite a while, great follow up on process after u were done, and what u found on other vehicle , always great info, diag, editing is the best around, appreciate the time u take to do this!
Excellent stuff, but I think I would have tried the coil swap first, limiting the number of variables.
Very informative Erick thanks good video
