Ive got an HRC216 the clutch pad is the older style with the outer and
inner pads. The mower stops immediately when trying to engage the blades.
I don’t see any damage or worn out bushings … The engine runs fine at
high and low speeds no problems there. Only when I attempt to engage the
blades it stops quick. Any thoughts on what would cause this?

swabbster3 says:

I was working for a landscaping company and they always told us leave the
engine revved up at all times, fire it up and full throttle, emptying the
bag full throttle engaging the blade full throttle, personally I’d idle the
motor when not cutting run at 1/4 throttle when engaging the blades then
rev it out to prolong the clutch expectancy

Yep, like the nylon bushings, worth spending $6 and replacing them each
year for 3 years, depending on use 🙂

I noticed in the last few frames that you had were extracting oil with an
oil extractor. what kind was it and do you like it? Also in the background
there are lift tables. what kind are they and are they electric or air?
What is your opinion on both the oil extractor and the lift tables?

JEREMY FOUNTAIN says:

My hrc216 will not roll backwards. It engages to go forward however it gets
stuck when trying to roll backwards. What do you think?

spring should be replaced

Jeremy, great vid on the bushings for the HRC216. I have a few HR214’s.
Just wondering if the set-up is basically the same for the clutch resulting
in the same “bushing failure” or were the older ones better made with
perhaps stronger bushings? Thanks.

JEREMY FOUNTAIN says:

When it breaks. When it fails the mower won’t engage

Bjwings02 says:

The mower manual says rotary mower hr 215 hma. It cuts fine it just that it
is barely moving on its own sometime it actually stops. And I have to push
manually.

Mower Man says:

Brilliant! Thanks Ill definately do this.

Bjwings02 says:

First thank you for replying so quick. It says manual starting self
propelled hydrostatic transmission
