Hi there i really like your youtube channel.
my Honda mower vibrates a lot when off clutch… could be wrong blade? when
the mower clutch is activated and mowing, the mower hardly ever vibrates
and runs very smooth…
You mean “Unsafe” like every other lawn mower since the 50’s till now?
Honda’s cost 3-600 Dollars when most others are 150-300..
just wondered if its possible to do away with this clutch altogether
fitting a boss to the shaft instead.
HRA 215 HONDA THE OIL IS DRYING UP BEEN 3 YEARS LAST USED.
All mowers made for the US since the 1980’s have to have a system to stop
the blade while the mower is unattended. Most mowers have a blade brake
with ignition kill. Many of the Honda and other brand mowers intended for
commercial use have a blade clutch system. There are many cheap Honda brand
mowers available without this system. As my dear departed grandfather that
I never met used to say: ” Don’t buy a Cadillac if you really want a
Vespa.”
My Toro 20672 cost $519.95 (MSRP) back in 1984.
David: Personally I’m not partial to Honda mowers, yes it costs a little
more to service them. I don’t see many failures of the Honda blade clutch
systems. These type machines are designed for commercial use and the idea
of this system is you don’t have to restart the motor every time you let go
of the handle. I see some 20 year old Honda blade clutch type machines and
most haven’t required this type of service.
do you know where I can buy this blade clutch,i have craftsman lawn mower
with Honda engine part # is917.370950,and it looks like its the same
clutch,i just don’t know where to get it,Sears doesn’t have it ,it is the
same problem the blade does not ingage
My neighbor is a lawn care tech as he calls it with 45 employees and say
mowers like this are made for people with more $ then brains and would not
own one.. he showed me several pieces of equipment “not one a Honda” most
all are commercial use and none had a blade clutch with the exception of
the riders and says Honda implements cost 4 times more to repair then real
mowers and made alot of sense to you Honda makes you money but not the
owner..just relaying what a lawn care profes
3:54 – Hear the lovely idle of the Honda OHC engine.
I have a 1984 Toro mower with the blade brake clutch.
The blade clutch on this machine is a safety device and should be kept
functional. To bypass it would be unsafe making the blade run continuously.
How do you change the clutch cable for these mowers. I have a hrr216
harmony II and man I see the belt obstructing it.
help!!
