Hey Scotty i was fixing my motorcycle a Honda CBR 600 F3 (1996) I changed
the alternator cover but now the pin won’t go back in I think I misaligned
the hole the pin goes in and now it won’t fit please help how do I fix
this….

watch the youtube link for reference i’m talking about the pin at 3:55 –
the little gear is not aligned any more so I can’t get the cover on…

james Gravelle says:

Rotate it counter clockwise it will go in

Leonhart11 says:

hey bro, did you use silicone gasket sealant on the edge of the stator
cover?

myryanedisonjadiel says:

I have a honda cbr 600 rr 2003 and I had an accident and stator cover on
the left side broke and I dont know why the bike spill the oil. Do you
know? Thanks Eddie

mrsexx1 says:

Yes it”s (1 .2 kgf-m , 9 lbf-ft).

mrsexx1 says:

Lol, after I wrecked the bike popping wheelie’s I just let the bike sit
because I didn’t want to repair it at the time. I purchased a CBR 1000RR
but ended up giving it to my brother, so that’s when I decided to repair my
929RR.

Courtney Kannady says:

No lights no power at all.

Courtney Kannady says:

Hey my suzuki katana has power at all.no lights will come on when i turn
the ignition.new battery .so if u can tell me what to do.please!…

mrsexx1 says:

Yup, glad I could help.

mrsexx1 says:

Yes i drained the oil before i removed the stator cover. My oil was way
over due for a change so i added new oil. If your oil has not reached the
mileage for a change then yes you can reuse it but since you have to drain
it maybe you should just change it while your doing the Stator because it’s
already drained.

Jhonny Ayala says:

Do you think its because the new battery had some issues in the first place
or what can it be, like i said before new rectifier and stator

mrsexx1 says:

You should first check your ground and make sure it is clean and has a good
connection on both ends then have your battery tested, if the battery is
good then I would start looking at the stator, and if that’s good then
check or replace your rectifier/regulator. Hopefully it’s just something
simple like the battery cable needs to be cleaned or tighten.

Jhonny Ayala says:

thanks for your time bro

MrVR1 says:

Thank you so much for this video! I’d love to see a more in depth detail;
step by step on how to do it ( a lengthier video would be awesome! ) I need
to change mine. She(my bike) died in the middle of rush hour in downtown
yesterday 🙁 had to dump start it and it died again through out the day
trying to get her home… I figure it’s the stator – I’m pretty sure I need
to change it.

newchips says:

Not at all. Oil circulates through the stator housing already. The crack in
the cover caused oil to leak, when it should have been enclosed. Just save
up the cash and buy a new cover. No cheap fixes

mrsexx1 says:

It’s very easy and simple thats why i did’nt film that process. But to
answer your question: Ok your looking at the inside of the Stator, you will
see a rubber grommet holding the electric wires to the cover then a metal
wire clamp under a bolt and 4 more bolts holding the Stator to the cover.
Remove all 5 bolts and keep up with the metal clamp and remember how it
goes, then replace everything in reverse on the new Cover but this time add
a very small amount of sealant to the rubber grommet.

KerryDoan says:

well we all know you have beating off experience

mrsexx1 says:

Yup, thanks for watching.

wyldeme says:

Can you tell me the torque settings for the bolts please?

mrsexx1 says:

@newchips = Lol, your right about that (quick fix). I tryed sealing the
cover with JB Weld but it never worked so i had to stop being cheap and
just buy a new cover.

justice mcdaniel says:

This may be a stupid question but did you have to drain all the oil? And
did you reuse the same oil or put new in it thanks

Jordan Mcgill says:

@newchips how did that quick fix work cause im thinking about doing the
same to my bike, its a super small crack so i figure why not.

james brown says:

great video, playboy. i have them same bike and my battery keeps dying. my
bike died on me last week will i was riding on the highway. the local
mechanic keep telling me to replace the regulator. can you make a video
replacing the regulator?

newchips says:

@mrsexx1 WHat??! Man, wish you had responded a little sooner. Just finished
putting that stuff on. The crack in my cover is really small, though. Hope
it holds, or I might have to do like you and come out the pockets!

mrsexx1 says:

@newchips = JB WELD should seal up your small hole or crack. I had a
massive hole in my cover so there was not enough metal for the JB WELD to
bond to, But it works great for small holes and cracks so you should be
fine. Good luck.

Jhonny Ayala says:

BRO MY 929 KEeps killing my battery what u thin it may be ???

Darontaylor5 says:

Hey I’m at that point and you skipped over moving the part on the inside of
the stator to put it on the new one…how did you do that? Because I’m at
that point now!

dogzlf says:

wait so if you get oil in the stator it will shut off the bike?

newchips says:

Haha it worked for about 30 minutes. I rode 20 miles, crossed a bridge, was
far from home, and then the oil found its way through the crack. Luckily it
was on a slow Saturday and not many cars were out because I rode home so
slow. I then went straight to the shop

Joseph Hutter says:

The reason you can just pull off the Stator Cover is because its a big
magnet.

MrBmn2 says:

dam it took you five years your a beast I beat mine off with a hammer in
five min

mrsexx1 says:

Sorry for the late reply, I haven’t been on the Tube in a while. But I
really think you should go over your work and make sure all your grounds
are clean and screwed down, also try a new battery. Let me know what you
find.

mrsexx1 says:

Yes maybe if I can find the time, I have been very busy with my home
improvement projects. But its very simple to change, just remove the rear
cowl and its located on the left side sub frame. Usually takes an hour and
a half most times.

newchips says:

No, a normal functioning stator should have oil that circulates through it

mrsexx1 says:

@MrVR1 Sorry to hear she died in the middle of traffic. Before you take a
guess and start pulling your bike apart I suggest you start checking the
easy stuff first, Battery, voltage reg, then if you have the service manual
follow the instructions on how to read the fault codes by using the SERVICE
CHECK CONNECTOR under the rear seat. The service connector will tell you
exactly whats wrong with her, Please post back and let me know what the
problem was or is? I can send the manual if needed.

Eric Sexton says:

My bolts are stripped out and broke still leaks any ideas without changing
the whole bottom end

Jhonny Ayala says:

if everything its good stator rectifier and ground what else u think it
could be?

newchips says:

Good vid. I lowsided and oil leaked from my stator cover. Looks like you
did something to seal your old cover. How did that work out?

Jhonny Ayala says:

i have a brand new stator and regulator on it just changed, but check this
out when i put the new battery on the bike, I didnt have the keys so the
bike was off for a month with the new battery on it without any operation,
of course by the time my friend came back on town the battery was dead so
we charged and the bike was running perfect for like a month in a half but
it just die, we charged again but it keeps dying after a bit..If the stator
and regulator r brand new why the battery dies
