The noise that you hear at the start is a bad VTC actuator. It’s harmless and hard to replace but you can replace it and it costs $150 or so

Great video, learned a lot. One question, I have to replace water pump on same car.

what do I need to remove to get to the water pump? Referring to alternator, tensioner, stuff up top. I don't want to remove anything I don't need to. Thanks so much, Eric

Great video. I'm in the process of changing out the alternator on my Daughters Honda Accord Sport 2015. I am having a hell of a time getting the top long bolt back in on the new alternator ( cost $439.00 ). The alignment doesn't seem to be true. I have loosened the bottom bolt, tried without the bolt and tightened the bottom bolt to no avail. any ideas? thanks!

bdubbin says:

Thanks for this video! You've got some great 9th Gen Accord content!
Do you think you could do one on installing an oil catch can on your 2013-17 Accord 4 cyl?

ice427 * says:

great video but i know what the noise is when you crank it the two( sprockets) exhaust sprocket and the intake VTC actuator and timing chain need to be changed.

Call an auto parts store and ask them to describe what the what pump O ring looks like to make sure you have the right one LOL

KGB Reviews says:

What should the alternator and battery voltage be at? I was thinking a alternator has to be at 14 to 14.5 volts and the battery the around the same. But then my Haynes manual said the alternator is going bad if the battery voltage falls below 13v while running. Thanks.
