If you keep the battery charger on the car and it doesn’t die then yes,
alternator or wiring problem with the charging system. Assuming you need to
put the battery charger back on the battery once the car dies, to get it
started again.

Ash Qelon says:

I am appreciative of your video a lot. It was very helpful about the adjust
bracket bolts assembly to recall what it looked like. thx a million.

Dane says:

Which way do you turn the nut to tighten it? I think I sank it down as far
as I could and it seamed to get looser. So, I reversed that and the bolt
just got lose.

legotrekker says:

Thanks a ton, helped us figure out what we were doing wrong and let us get
the job done.

Autotechviewpoint says:

You did not mention if you loosened the Other bolt for the alternator.
Usually 14mm pivot bolt. Rust or corrosion can be a problem holding things
together even when bolts are loose.

Jose Avalos says:

Ok now my turn to try ett on my 1990 accord

Autotechviewpoint says:

Pretty sure you will find it on the passenger side of the car, mounted on
the firewall (back of the engine) Maybe under car? It will be likely a
black metal canister, with two steel lines going in it.

Bengo Bashi says:

i love you god dammit

Great video!

Brian Howard says:

Thank you so much. I removed my alternator last night and bumped the table
holding my bolts and scattered them all over the ground. thank you for the
video showing me where all the bolts went back into the car

xknightj says:

Thank you so much, I was trying to figure out where the adjusting bolts
were.

menitoberumen says:

Good vid i got a problem on a 92 prelude my alternator belt wont tighten
and the adjusting bolt is all the way in but it wont budge so i just pull
up on it as hard as i can to tighten it whats wrong is it the bracket or
what?

Autotechviewpoint says:

If you mean the nut under the pulley (lock nut?) then you should just have
to loosen that one, and if necessary loosen the top bolt (14mm pivot bolt)
and turn the 10 mm screw to tighten the belt. I would tighten the belt a
little then start the car and snap the throttle a couple times and see if
it squeaks…before you tighten the nut and bolt.

67dodgepolara says:

On this car or a ’94 Accord 2.2, does the A/C belt go around anything else
important such as the alternator? My daughter’s car has a failing A/C
Compressor bearing and I’m wondering if I can just cut the belt and drive
home like some of the older cars…. Please hurry we leave in the morning!!

xxpreludexx says:

Thanks alot for this video!! I was going mad trying to figure out how the
belt adjusting bolt pieces went and in what orientation. Now my only
question is do I turn the lock nut on the alternator all the way first? Or
do I do a combo of lock nut adjusting bolt. Got new belts and the
alternator one is squealing. Thanks

Rick Schramm says:

Excellent tutorial, With this method I did not have to raise the car at all
I did have to improvise some leverage for the top alternator bolt but all
in all this method was easy and took minimal time to remove the Alternator,
I will overnight order the replacement and re-install with out removing the
front wheel . I also did not need to loosen any motor mounts on a 2001 lx .
Thank you . Respect Rick (DJ O.C.P.) Another Badd Creation Mobile DJ Service

just want to say thank you for the tips on how to replace an alternator on
a 92 honda. there was no way i would have been able to have done it with
with out this video. 3hrs tops with the drive to the parts store and
breaks. saved me money, that’s for sure !! again THANKS LOT’S “YOU TUBE

This video was a big help today when I was changing the alternator on a
1990 Accord. Thanks for posting.

Silver Ships says:

Thank you, this video made this job so much easier than the manual . Great
to have such a great visual and description.

Silanethione says:

nice dude. thanks so much, it took me only one hour to knock this out.
taking time to remove the cruise control and PS makes things so much
easier. I lost that one belt tightening piece in the engine bay…tried
just pulling and tightening without it for a day…big mistake and I never
want to hear that loud screetch of a slipping belt again. Finally got that
piece out and it worked to perfection. 90$ for part vs 500$ estimate at
shop!

Fiercefist says:

Thanks a lot!!! This video helped out A LOT! Thanks again!

Stevo Pappilomo says:

thank you brother helped me alot

THEMRFYL says:

hey i have a problem starting my car (its an accord ex 2000 v4) it always
has problem starting i have to put some gas idk what it might be i was
thinking the alternator or the battery…

uthmanamoni says:

Thanks for the post it was very helpful. I did have to remove the engine
mount to remove the alternator. I would much rather send this job to the
shop unless I had a good japanese friend with small japanese hands who owed
me a favor ; ) Curses on the engineers! If your alternator goes bad, sell
the car lmao

greg berland says:

Were is the fuel filter?? On this engine

NismoBdon says:

I have a 91 SE this was wayyy helpful. got stuck on the bottom part of the
alternator and this helped me get it out in minutes.

Ajsbored says:

Does it mean the alternator is bad if my battery constantly dies even if
the car is running? Like I charged the battery, after 10 minutes of the car
running I cut the car off and the battery dies.
