These come out the bottom a lot easier. I will post a video on my channel
soon.
I just did one the other day. worst part is the pivot bolt will be seized
in the Alum alternator housing.

Siddique Hussain says:

Thanks Andrew, really useful as i have the same issue.

kevin limparis says:

Just a heads up, when you beat out that bolt, put the nut on the end of it
so you dont bend the threads. Good vid though man!

Jimmy am says:

Which bolts do I need to changed the Alternator if the bolts are broken or
I am missing the bolts.

Kamikazee011 says:

Thank you Sir for posting this video. I needed to refresh myself. My civic
is slammed and when I hit a puddle of water I assume that my alternator got
wet.

aneal138 says:

Entertaining and informative. “woo, unplugged” lol

Dylan Nguyen says:

Do you HAVE to go under neath to get the alternator moving back and forth?
Because I unscrewed a bunch of shit.. couldnt make it budge. I don’t have
power steering so nothing is really in the way.. any tips?

Eric says:

I NEED HELP …!!!! I have a 99 Honda Civic DX and CAN NOT get it out from
the top … was searching around and theyre saying something about the air
filter and what not … or taking the axle off and lifting the motor about
a half inch … any insight on how to take it off on a 96-00 …???

BoostThat3 says:

Nice instructional video. I’ve done the install before so I know how to do
it, however I just watched it to see what tools I needed. You should
include the socket sizes and other tools in the video description for
people like me 🙂

Zubirrex says:

I was riding around with my friends Renee and Russel, smoking a blunt, then
this showed up….

DADDYFATSACKS says:

how much did you pay for your refurbished alternator?

Andrew Arellano says:

@kingsicario13 I didnt bleed it but yes you should !

DDSTrainers says:

Thnx 4 da Tut dude u saved me alot of Repair shop money 😛

J Brown says:

Yo, thanks for the great video. I’m heading out right now to work on my ’95
Civic DX, and you just walked me through everything I need to do. Nicely
done, dude.

K3V1N115 says:

I hate that rattle , Ever got it fixed ? what was the problem , having the
same issue i don’t really want to spend a lot to fix a bit.

juan perez says:

Hi, In my civic 94 D16Z6 the alternator charges !8V / 19 v. is it normal?

myraptor40 says:

Thanks Bro!

dipsettkid5 says:

You should swap that d15 (y)

Gilberto Rios says:

I went to autozone to test a starter for a 97 tahoe and their test said it
was good but when I installed it, it would not start so I took it out and
went back and forth to autozone, finally I went to napa and they told me it
was bad with out testing it. The reason it passed the test at autozone was
because they just check to see if it spins and not the resistance.

Chio442 says:

Thanks for info. FYI the alternator in a 1998 civic has to be removed after
you remove the lower bracket. It will not come out from the top, so no need
to remove wire brackets, power steering hose etc.

Dylan Boldt says:

Lmao you look and talk high as hell Haha

lindzann says:

Thanks for the video. Did a 96 civic this morning and you must remove the
bottom bracket to remove the dead alternator (or you’d need to remove the
master cylinder to get it out the top on top of messing with a bunch of
wires). We also had to force the bushing toward the wheel to put the new
alternator in place.

TravisDoyon says:

like in all previous videos, drew doesnt smoke nor has he ever touched any
drugs

TheSillySaxon says:

7:42 laughed so much

Kevin Martin says:

1995 Honda Civic EX can take out through the bottom way easier Take off the
alternator bottom bracket and the rest of the wires and belt, Take the
drivers side wheel off and the plastic wheel well shield snake it through
the hole.

marco valadez says:

my 98 dx honda doesn’t look anything like this too

fockyoumang says:

yeah i eventually did that. it only takes less than 10 minutes to lit the
alternator in. i lost to much power steering fluid from the house and from
the pump and now the steering feels shaky. i did both tie rods and CV axles
on both sides. excerpt the outer tie rods. i hope i didn’t ruin something.
it needs an alignment. the toe in and out on both front yours are
noticeable and the front drivers looks like positive camber. there’s camber
kits in the back

Andrew Arellano says:

@schoolboycc I thought of that also, so far so good so im pretty confident
it was a bad alternator

fockyoumang says:

I got it, so damn easy. I had to take it out and put it back about 6 times.
And AutoZone alternators are garbage. Removing the power steering line made
it a 3 out of 10 in how easy it is

fresno93703 says:

easy way to test of alternator is bad, is you start your car, then remove
the negative terminal and if your car stop running that means your
alternator is bad, because the battery is there just to give your car a
jump start. and if your car is running without the battery, then its good.

c00cs1 says:

Real real good video. Finna pull this sucka out now, thanks for tha vid.

i3oosted says:

Che Guevara is alive and well!!!

bmw575 says:

thanks a lot for the heads up bro… I don’t do autozone garbage I like
advanced auto…..

ilyheavenleeigh says:

Will this work on a.91 integra

JOHNNY COCKMONGLER says:

lol his comment was a year ago… too late!

Rick Pants says:

never hit a bolt on its bear threads like that, get a piece of wood or
something to prevent directly hitting the bolt

David Salas says:

do you think a non working alternator can be the reason the headlights are
burning out?

schoolboycc says:

The alternator being a month old tells me one of two things. Something is
causing the alternator to fail, such as a bad battery or it really was a
bad alternator. I was a rebuilder so I can tell you that if it lasted a
month, it should have kept on working. I suspect you have put another one
on since. Keep trying to inform the public but be informed yourself before
you pass on this knowledge. This is where mechanics and technicians get a
bad rap. Good luck to you.

diego19917633 says:

is it the same for a 91 integra

Gidenkidenk says:

having a hard time with 97 civic.

ianbearpig7 says:
