Just a quick video showing how I replaced the front brake pads & rotors on a 2018 Honda Pilot. This will be the same process and method for other years and models of Honda & Acura. I picked up the pads and rotors from my local O’reilly and they are working great.
Here is a video that I did on the Rear Brake Pads & Rotors for this same vehicle:
https://youtu.be/CXdW_P48Wcw
The Torque Specs I found online:
101 ft lbs for the Larger Caliper Bracket Bolts
37 ft lbs for the Smaller Caliper Slide Pin Bolts
Tools needed:
Small Prybar or Heavy Duty Screwdriver or caliper piston compression tool
17 mm Socket and/or wrench
19 mm Socket and/or wrench
1/2 Inch Impact wrench or breaker bar
3/8 Inch Impact wrench or long ratchet or breaker bar
JIS – 3 Impact Screwdriver
Torque Wrench
Brake Grease

Is back in October or November, I changed out the lower control arms on my Mazda CX5 (2013).
And here recently It started making noises.
I crawled under and inspected the lower control arms, And the bushings on both driver and passenger side are torn up really bad.
I followed the torque specs from the Mazda online service manual, Which also matched the torque specs you gave in your video for the lower control arm replacement.
I also used the wooden block method And a Jack to put load on to the suspension before torquing like you showed in your video.
Any idea why they would be torn up so quickly?
Do you think it's possible with the second Jack I put too much pressure on the suspension before talking could that destroy or mess up the bushings?
Or maybe too little?
I talked to O'reilly's And they said they will warranty them, And I just need to bring in the old ones that are damaged and they'll give me new ones.
I just to be clear I'm not blaming or throwing shade your way your video was very helpful I'm just trying to figure out what I did wrong, Or if maybe I just got unlucky and got some import direct lower control arms that we're not properly quality controlled.
Also should point out I only put 10000 miles on these and the OM ones that I originally replaced Had almost 200000 miles on them.
Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
