it looks like it, you’ll just have to take out the belt and then use some socket and ratchet to remove the bolts and it should be out. We haven’t done one, but it looks like you can do it from the side.
Is it this easy to replace the tension pulley as well? The belt indicator on my 2003 Accord shows I need to replace both.
the belt I got was from Honda dealership, the part number was 38920-RAA-a02. I’m not sure about gates or contitech, but you can always cross reference the belt number and see if they’re the same.
what code it has the belt 7PK1760 or 7PK1780? gates, contitech?
no problem! if you want to make more room, you can remove the power steering reservoir so that there is more room for your hand. Glad it worked out for you still though!
I have large hands. It was difficult and tight with so little room to work, but I finally got the belt on.

The V6 is the same as the inline 4, your belt is longer and the auto tensioner should be in the same area as mine, your V6 just has an extra idler pulley. Look around for the auto tensioner. You can alway google for the serpentine diagram as well.
Is it possible that my 2006 v6 accord does not have an auto tensioner? I can’t seem to locate a bolt that functions as you are describing the bolt completely loosens. And when I pull gently on the belt it is the one that tensioning. How do I remove the belt in that situation.
I don’t think Home Depot sell that wrench. Look in my description box and buy the Honda one, its the same thing and it has a long handle for leaverage. I think only Matcotools and snap-on sells the 0 offset long wrench. I haven’t able to find it anywhere else.
yeah I havent been able to find a single one online. Probably Home Depot… Could the nut still be accessed with an angled head?
It was a 0 offset long wrench that I got from harbor freight 6 years ago that they discontinued.

Well where I live, in Minnesota, -20 in Winter and 90+ in Summer. Lol

check your serpentine belt for cracks before you change it. Serpentine belts can last up to 10 years or 120,000 miles, depending on how you drive and weather conditions.
My 06′ Accord turned 82K today. Not high miles but 7 years old I might have to do it before winter.
around 90,000 miles or so.
I bought it at Honda dealership. It’s pretty easy to do this.

its not a normal wrench since its not long enough and doesn’t have the leverage as the one I had. You need a long wrench to pull on the auto tensioner to release the tension. You can also use a regular wrench and use a long pipe attached to it for leverage. I hope that helps.
14mm Wrench can be found at most any big box Hardware store such as Lowes, Home Depot or you can go to an automotive store. You should just pick up a complete set on Ebay or Amazon that is Metric and Standard to have on hand.
I bought that wrench 6 years ago, I didn’t know that Harborfreight discontinued it. You can just buy the Honda serpentine belt tool that I have in the description box, its basically better and its long for 1 purpose, which is for the serpentine belt.

No, the 2001 has 2 drive belts. One has the auto tensioner and the other is the alternator belt that needs to be adjusted/loosen ontop where the alternator bracket is at.

Hrm, try using a longer extension to pull on your auto tensioner, have more leverage so that it’ll be easy to pull and push the auto tensioner back. Sometimes if you have a short wrench, it won’t move because not enough pressure is pushing against the tensioner to release the belt. Try that and get back to me.
so what if the tension pulley wont budge?! i pulled and pulled and its stuck.. so i cant even change my belt!? would it be because my alternator is messed up by chance?
I’ve never heard of the accord VP, and I’m sorry but we don’t have a vehicle to do this on :( or else I would jump on it :(.
This is sort of a dumb question i guess, but my question is there any way you could explain how I could replace my radio, that comes in standard in my 2007 Honda Accord VP, to a OEM Honda Accord nav system that has dual control? Because I can’t find one that is single control because it doesn’t exist. A tutorial would be greatly appreciated.
If you post me a video of the engine bay where the belt is at, I may tell you. I’m not too sure about the 04 honda civic. If you see there is a serpentine belt, look for the auto tensioner. If you see there is 2 drive belts, then you’ll have to loosen the alternator to loosen the drive belts.
