Your welcome, and thank you.Comments like this inspire me to make more
videos.

Well done on the video. I like the way you articulate the nut sizes and
explain things. On future videos, it might be good to have someone else
hold the camera for you so it’s not shakey. This was most helpful. Thank
you. Joe in Asheville, NC.

Use a pickle fork or shock it some more with force with a small sledge or
hammer.

hp11208 says:

Okay, let me know how it went.

scleme316 says:

Thank you for your reply. After I take the nut off the top, it should just
slide straight down after shocking it for a while correct?

scleme316 says:

OK… I picked up a pickle fork and will give it try again tonight. Thank
you so much for your help. I had no idea what a pickle fork even was had
you not mentioned it.

hp11208 says:

Not really, push it downwards with your hands then wiggle it out.

scleme316 says:

I stopped at Harbor Freight and picked up a pickle fork for 10 bucks last
night. I was able to use the pickle fork and heavy metal mallet to release
the ball joint. In addition to the lower control arm, I changed the struts
and stabilizer bar link. I had a bit of trouble lining up the holes on the
new control arm, but eventually got everything to line up and all bolts
back in place.

scleme316 says:

Thank you for posting this video. I ordered the replacement control arms
and will be giving this a shot this weekend.

hp11208 says:

Glad to hear, that it went well.

scleme316 says:

I’ve gotten all the bolts off, but I’m not able to get the control arm out
of the steering knuckle. How did you get yours out? You mentioned shocking
it with a mallet, I’ve done so quite a few times. Thx in advance.

Thanks for your comment,good luck.

When im doing these repair vids i work alone, ill try to get a tripod thanks
Joe from NC.

scleme316 says:

Job complete! Thank you again! I found the ball joints very difficult to
remove even with Pickle Fork. They sell Ball Joint Separators on Amazon,
maybe helpful for the next DIYer.

Anytime,and thanks for your feedback.

scleme316 says:

That said, I finished the left side last night (control arm, strut, and
stabilizer bar link) and will tackle the right side tonight. I would’ve
never been able to do this without your video, and I really appreciate you
taking the time to post it. I also want to thank you again for all your
helpful replies, all your advice was instrumental in getting me through
this.
