thanks for the nice clear video and instructions! is it dangerous to
loosen that strut bolt w/out compressing the spring? in the past i’ve
always compressed it just enough that they put some force on the bottom to
keep it from spinning out.
thank you for your vids. they are very helpfull but can i ask where do you
buy your shocks or parts from for your civic?
I snapped off head on that lower bolt how do I get the bolt out?
thanks for the video bro this is going to help me out a lot . since
everyone i spoke with wants $200 and up to install my new shocks .. keep up
the good work
random question, i had a 1998 hatchback, i bought new rear shocks but never
replaced them, i now have an 06 civic ex coupe, are the shocks the same?
bad ass. I really don’t know why someone would click, ‘dislike’ on this
video….
As long as its not seized, its realistic to other people, or else it
wouldn’t have worked for me. Make sure its not seized and that will solved
your problem, or else you’ll have to get it cut or a different option.
Life saver
thank you!! this will help greatly soon. I’m getting a 96 coupe and have to
change the shocks.
Thanks for uploading this video, your other one helped me replace my front
shocks. I ran into a problem with my rear shocks in that the bolt that runs
through the bottom of the shock and the arm will not come free. I’ve used
penetrating oil and PB blaster but its still stuck. How should i go about
freeing this bolt?
Yes. Anytime you change your shocks and springs, you want to get an
alignment since changes your suspension caster, camber and toe and it will
cause tire wear.
thanks for the videos guys do you have any video for the same thing but a
2006 honda civic rear struts?
I’m planning to change all 4 spring and struts on a 1994 civic, which do I
do first? And if I do the rear ones first do I have to do the alignment ?
Or only for the front ones?
Do it right the, don’t force anything in if it doesn’t fit or else things
get broken. Just follow the video again and you should be fine. Redo your
shocks. The rear shocks are easy to install.
Just making sure. You said only need an alignment if you have tire wear
correct? I have no tire wear.
As of right now no, sorry.
they have better handling on corners than the stock suspensions, and less
bouncy.
penetrating spray doesn’t do squat to suspension bolts that are seized to
the collars of the bushings. Map gas and impact wrenches will also fail.
This video is nice and all, but it’s unrealistic for a lot of people who
will have to cut almost every LCA bolt.
replacing the bushing is cheaper than replacing the whole lower control
arm. Try pushing the bushings out and take it to the dealer to get it
replace. If its stuck on there, then replace the lower control arm or lower
arm. Hope that helps.
ouch, get it replaced asap! 🙂
oh okay thank you for the reply and the kick ass vid 🙂
how come everyone else’s bolts just come right out? mine are always
frozen… just broke my lower control arm to trailing arm bolt when I was
trying to do my RTAB.. btw if anyone is doing the rear trailing arm
bushings, spend the 150 bucks on the tool, It will save you a week on parts
and if you cant drill out bolts then you need this tool lol.
you fucking mother fucker 4:05 mama thai ramen noodle noodles! I eat those
everyday!
Nice video, thanks
If you work on any suspension work, I would recommend you to do an
alignment afterwards. But first drive your vehicle after the suspension
work and see if it drift to one side or not, if it doesn’t, don’t worry
about it. If it does, get it aligned.
no problem! glad we could help.
very nice, we got plenty of the Honda Civic video on our YouTube channel,
so that should help with some of your maintenance needs.
Thx man,so how long hav u put them on for? Im mean they still work perfect
on the car? No noise?
You can do everything by hand, I just use the gun since its much faster. If
you come across a nut that’s hard to take out, use a breaker bar.
