Arthur Smith says:

Good video. As you were commenting on the fit and finish, particularly the right side door, I was expecting you to also comment on how easy it is to mar the matt black plastic below the painted surfaces. I can't seem to avoid scratching the matt black, particularly when taking off the side covers. Now I've got lots of tiny scratches that I don't seem to be able to polish out.

J Brown says:

I put about 14,000 miles on my 22 Goldwing tour manual and was a good bike for the most part. In September I had the water pump replaced under warranty. The whole front of the bike, suspension and all had to come off. A week later I traded it for a 23 BMW r1250rt. Really happy with that decision. BMW has a lot more options than the Goldwing. Maybe I'll go back to a Goldwing at some point but there will have to be more improvements.

Rick Thompson says:

No adaptive cruise for me. I hate it on my car. I prefer to keep my eyes on the road because when some A$$ pulls out in front of me while in cruise mode, I can lightly brake, unlike the hard braking the adaptive cruise control does.
Try that on a bike!

If they do put it on it, make it default to Off and have a switch to be able to turn it on.

Kurt Isley says:

Hey Cruiseman… Are you satisfied with the Goldwing's saddle bags? The only thing about my buddy's Road Glide that I am jealous of is the fact that his bags open from the top (so the contents don't spill out like they do on a GW) and the fact that they are easily removable.

Kurt Isley says:

Great video. The only thing I disagree with is the center pocket. I like that it is not locked. I agree that the GPS/Nav is woefully inadequate. My 11 year old car has the ability to mark the current location as a favorite. On a Goldwing, it is a convoluted process. Also, I am shocked to learn that Indian has a way to chart your drive online, then download the trip to your bike. Come on, Honda!! Surely you can match Indian!!!

Thanks for pointing out the side pocket trim and finish. I thought that I had somehow bent the cover of the side pocket, LOL! Yes, it needs to be better.

As to the Emergency Start process, I hope I never have to use it. I plan to just replace my FOB battery every year and hope for the best. Jerry Palladino made a Goldwing review video a couple of years ago and he asked the Honda salesman to demonstrate the emergency start process. IIRC, it took 2 days and 27 tries before the saleman could correctly complete the process.

GOOD&EASY says:

HONDA HAS TO BRING SOME CORRECTIONS FOR THIS PRICE / IN EUROPE GOLDWING IS 38 500 EUROS

charles davis says:

THE MIGHTY ONE!

charles davis says:

BRING BACK THE CB RADIO!

Greg Strickland says:

The engine guard should also be standard equipment installed by Honda. Also a digital speedometer would be nice.

Greg Cautrell says:

On the seat scuffing issue, watching your videos, I've noticed that you (and apparently others) use a different method of mount your bike than I do. You always use a sort of step-through method, whereas I always throw my right leg over the back seat. Perhaps it's the old dirt bike rider in me. I'd also point out that I don't have a driver backrest, so that makes a difference. But today I paid attention to that while mounting and think I would clear it if I had the backrest. No right or wrong, but maybe worth a try. My bum right knee doesn't like the step through, and I'd surely scuff up the seat. And as I've gotten older, I find it better if I stand with my left leg on the left peg instead of on the ground when I swing the right one over. For reference, I'm 5' 10', 185 lbs., and am about to turn 64 years old.

Hugh Evans says:

Chris: I agree with all your points, but would like to add mine:
– Why make Android Auto (and I assume Apple CarPlay) dependant on a headset being connected. If the headset gets a flat battery you lose all AA and ACP functionality. And due to infrequent GPS updates, many depend on Google Maps / Apple Navigation.
– The emergency start procedure is a nightmare. I'm sure Honda cars don't have this method to start with a flat fob battery.
– Helmet storage using the grab handle bracket with the helmet resting on that expensive paint…
– That air filter change procedure !!! Need I say more?

TDog says:

Hi Cruiseman, I have a 22 Goldwing and my little annoyance is that when closing the trunk I have to make sure it is closed by pushing down again and waiting for the extra click. Unless I close the lid on the left side. My dealer says this is normal for the Goldwing. Do you have that issue??

CPU UK says:

5 years ago… how time has flown.

Michael Skinner says:

Thanks for the video. I'm curious though if the GW has backlighting for the switches?

Christopher Mcreynolds says:

If you don’t like it don’t buy one and stop moaning

Mariolife Raffo says:

Great…!!! You read my mind. I agree with all 13 notes

William B. says:

That is a good list!

NackDSP says:

For the same weight as that V6, transmission, exhaust and fuel tank, the Goldwing could have a stronger electric motor and a very large range battery. The battery in a motorcycle is so small in comparison to a car that it could recharge at a Tesla charger in maybe ten minutes. Most of these are only ridden for an hour by old men anyway. Imagine how quiet and quick the EV would be. Honda is probably working on a white elephant version powered by hydrogen instead.

Bill Williams says:

Chris, the horn, I agree, wrong place, on many motorcycles. For safety, that horn button should be easily accessible. Give up on the AM/FM, Canam has the same problem', don't even use the freaking radio.
