It’s either 2 ground wires on the back of the engine. Throttle body or knock sensors. In case anyone is wondering what can cause this. The pcm Ground and one other ground check for throttle body and knock sensor codes. Change the parts with Gm genuine or acdelco only. If you change knock sensor do both and also change the wires and intake manifold gasket very simple.

CHECK ALL GROUND WIRES FIRST!

Its water leaking behind dash bottom of window seal leaking on tcm

I been trying everything to fix reduce engine power on a suburban… might try this next

@KristieJones-w4n says:

Limp mode is directly linked to catalytic converter. its stopped up. Building up exhaust pressure, the computer is trying to reduce the pressure…thus reduce the amount of exhaust produced. Vehicle will reduce speed down to around 35. As long as youre on level it will stay like like that for a while. When driving at an incline….it will bog down, putting in more effort to climb…speed will DRASTICALLY BE REDUCED to the point of potentially not having the power to do it. When traveling downhill…speed will increase due to the engine not having to work as hard…but that will be short lived. As I said, in regard to the initial reduction of speed…aka limp mode…as back pressure increases in your exhaust the less power the engine has… As the pressure decreases (given the time and opportunity to clear out…rest) speed increases. The reason why there doesn't seem to be an issue until the vehicle warms up. Sometimes shutting off the vehicle and restarting it again will make the computer let it out of limp mode and you can just go on your way.

Back in the day, when vehicles didnt have computers controlling everything about them…when catalytic converter was having issues the vehicle would more or less do the same thing and shut itself down due to the backpressure. It would slowly lose power…shut down and sometimes cause serious engine damage.

Depending on what state youre in you can cut out the cat, run straight exhaust and let it ride.

@alhavana9426 says:

No need for a bunch of ground wires most likely it was the throttle body you can't put aftermarket throttle body cause the ecm dnt read it right

@StackzTheGoat says:

I'm going to add those ground and see if anything changes …thanks

@Ronniejamesleo says:

GM shysters with that ecm if everything is not right it will go into full panic mode.aka limp mode. Most other brands itll just not give you the best throttle response but at least its at least driveable and dont have to sit along the highway. There are probably 15 different things that can cause this. Even a dirty throttlebody or air filter will make a rich or lean condition. The ecm will pick this up and throw it into that dreaded panic mode.

So basically it was a ground's?

@h2dr0o22 says:

They change my foot pedal sensor.

@oseitutu7189 says:

Please
If the reduce power is on can the car start? If not what I'm I going to do

@losangelespolitics5481 says:

Clean your carburetor that’s what lint mode is …

@jessejames7140 says:

All it was is a bad ground. He got you on the trottle body

@rw352 says:

Reduced engine power is annoying and I get it all the time My 2003 Suburban LT is a project car right now. But in a pinch. Throw it in neutral, turn the car completely off. You won’t have power steering so don’t freak out. You will still have brakes. Wait 5-10 seconds (longer if you’re comfortable) while rolling and turn it back on and put it in drive. Works every time for me

@ari1234. says:

What gauge wire was used for your grounds

@veno8mm says:

Ok so he swapped out your Dorman throttle body…. Did you request that you retain the old part? If so… Would you be interested in selling it?

@AmitroniX says:

I have tried everything and gave up. It happens randomly (100-150miles) but usually right after it rains. I just keep a scan tool handy and reset it. Then all is good for a while. It sucks when it happens at a red light.

@duckonquack2102 says:

On those is the pedal electronic?

@Sensei_is_dead says:

Sometimes it works if you just clean it
Don’t need a new one most of the time

@honda_bandit6603 says:

Delete this this embarrassing

@bucket7548 says:

I uploaded a video prior where i mistakenly said he changed the alternator. I changed the alternator recently. Theres been a lot of things worked on since i bought it. But the mechanic changed the throttle body and added the ground wires. I think the reduced power mode all started because i changed the throttle body when i bought it not knowing how delicate these tahoes are with that part.
