also have a “card file” but I have no idea what thats for..

old64goat says:

It looks like JB Weld, it is hard to see what is printed on the tube in
your video

snocrushr says:

What was the turkey’s name…. Christmas?

CornellsGarage says:

Interesting repair. Do you think cleaning the surface really well, using
RTV and a new gasket would do the trick instead of all that
file work? That’s what I do with out issue, maybe I just get lucky a lot
lol.

Graveltrucking says:

It sure takes some time to fix the manifold I imagine that part is harder
to find than a hens tooth. Son of a bitch I thought it rained hard on the
West Coast of British Columbia it sounded like a monsoon in the background
noise on part of this vid, rain a lot in southern Oregon?

nitrosport5 says:

What caused that damage?:rust?

shopdogsam says:

,,, brought ‘er in under budget,, I hope,,,, good job,

kitfox flyer says:

Stoneyburke says:

We had some Devcon Aluminum,Devcon Steel repair, worked great also.

chemech says:

My first response when I saw the manifold: “Where’s the J-B Weld?”

andrewkiwi1 says:

i use a similar product out here in New Zealand. Wrap the file in emery
tape. it doesnt clog. Ive even been real rough and filled a low block
surface with it Then sprayed it with galv paint and put it together as
normal. it worked.

andrewkiwi1 says:

I thought the turkeys would have all been hiding what with thanks giving
and christmas coming up. LOL

Talisman1957 says:

put yur tools away :D

ElderlyIron says:

Rockin Guy says:

Where did you get that intake?

Dan Whiteford says:

That’s real interesting repair technique but what are the surfaces like on
what it bolts onto?

datguy807 says:

why not grind it down ?????

browncarp says:

Tont has a Bridgeport, he could mill in down past the corrosion to good
metal.

bigdon2241 . says:

jeff is that the same as JB WELD good work

applecounty says:

It is raining. Fire season over then?

98eck says:

Love the repair. Just curious, I was always told to avoid touching files
with your bare hand because the salt and moisture can cause them to rust.
Do you just clean the file up with something or have you not ever had that
problem?

James Anema says:

Love your channel. The edits, music, outtakes and commentary. Oh and the
volly firefighter tie in is just bonus. How is the old Water Tender?
Hope all is going well for you, and yours. Thanks for all those redneck
rusted out work arounds.

RayinPa U.S.A. says:

I enjoy watching your videos , I like the results of cleaning a manifold ,
or an engine to paint them . my brother and I have put together a few
hotrods and that was always my specialty ! . Ray in Pa.

heliarche says:

I think it’ll work out fine. I’ve already used epoxy on coolant areas and
it’s held for years. Plus you use a ton of gas brazing and it’s tricky on
cast iron. I brazed a set of exhaust manifolds for my 318 and they sealed
up but I’d never do it on someone elses vehicle.

filmcostar says:

gobble gobble goo

grandpaseed says:

yea jeff thanks for the video !

ElCaminoGuy2005 says:

Man that JB weld is great stuff, I’m glad your uploading vids again.

RBPx1 says:

Thanks Jeff…

Fred Jones says:

I like on your truck repair project and your phone an Android phone number
in your address where you’re really really located at like on your dreams
the product project what your GMC

specialks1953 says:

Oh Boy!!!

Daniel Alpert says:

Could that epoxy be used to repair a head that leaks antifreeze too? I’ve
got an engine out of a 63 oliver 1800 diesel that leaks some antifreeze.
The head did have some pits that we used that copper seal to try to fix but
ended up still leaking anyway. Would that fix it? It seems easy enough to
apply.

bill65264 says:

Epoxy is some amazing stuff. I once “glued” a chunk of the rear end housing
on an 885 Case David Brown tractor that had been pulled off because some
yahoo dragged the tractor sideways by the lower arm. That was in the mid
nineties, Still working……

TheTraakon says:

The embodiment of “Use what you got and do what ya gotta do”.

Another good vid Jeff, thanks for the time and effort to share it.

Kalkaekie says:

Another good video ! Enjoyed it !

Brid chvtruck says:

Nice tip i like it see ya :-)

alnbaba says:

I had a problem with the intake manifold on my 62 Johnson outboard, turns
out it was leaking gas out of one of the bolt holes, blue gasket silicone
took care of that and for good measure new gaskets and the old girl was
running like a top( a smoky top),

The Shade Tree Fix-it Man says:

It is nice to see someone who knows how to use a file the proper way. No
back and forth, just pushing over the surface, lifting and re-position then
push through again.
Nice fix.

brian young says:

great to see you back again working on whitey hopefully we’ll see more
great videos from you soon.

MISTERPRESIDENTELECT says:

If in doubt, fill it with grout — whitey should be purring like a kitten,
come time for running the hooch. Those dadgum turkeys are stealing the
show, I bet they won’t be bothering you on the Christmas special… Will
there be a Christmas special?

Matt Hagedon says:

For jobs like this I like to use a flat hone stone when a file is too
aggressive. I also prefer Neil Diamond to John Denver but what do I know.

HotRod Paul says:

What is the goo u are using?

Good video

CosmicGrooves says:

Good stuff…. that JB Weld is good stuff.

SadamFlu says:

Cory L says:
