I knew they were file holders and I use them. Nice place to keep maintenance records and the owners manual as well as other things.
The best theft protection is to drive and older vehicle with an appropriate amount of body rust and a manual transmission. Almost makes you invisible.

Scott-get your AD discount and get one to add to the 65 Mustang restomod. I have had convertibles and never locked the doors so they would not cut the top to get in-did not smoke, so I used the console ashtray for small change-they would steal the ashtray also. Oh well.
