Another great video! I can appreciate your comment below about the passion
of working on cars. Well,you’ve definitely found a great group here on YT.
You can’t lose(except time and effort)making these videos. It can turn into
a 2nd income,plus it will generate business for your shop. Let’s face it :
just because people can watch repair videos on YT doesn’t mean they’ll all
start doing it themselves and not come to the shop. People that take their
cars to the shop will always do so,no matter what-few reasons : no time to
work on their own cars,no skill,no patience,no room,no tools etc.
Personally,I’d bring my car in a heart beat to your shop,knowing that
you’ll do a proper diagnostic and maybe even have the possibility to see
the repair on YT! HOW COOL IS THAT!
One suggestion I would make,if you don’t mind : I would tell people to
disconnect the battery before doing this repair.
im having a problem with my 2002 gmc jimmy. when i turn the key the engine
starts up before full turn and starter continues to go causing it to stall
i turn it off because it dosent sound good.. i noticed something today when
i put the truck in park i could hear the starter running. i removed the
starter and had it checked no problems i changed the lock cylinder because
the plastic was broken and key slides out while running. i ordered the
switch today and im hoping the switch is bad causing a short between
settings any thoughts?

Why didn’t you get a delco and charge the customer a few buck more. I think
oe fits better and a lot less headaches. We all know what BWD stands
for….. Thanks for all your hard work and making these videos.
watched your video a few more times and noticed when you reinstall the
switch you suggested turning the key to accessory and setting switch the
same. Im unable to turn the key to accessory
ill try that tomorrow before i change the switch. Im thinking i might have
a problem leaving the truck running it started before i changed the lock
cylinder but know stalls a bit not sure if it will stay runnung
no light, when i turn the key it just starts turning without the full turn
its almost like its stuck on. You dont even need to turn all the way to
start the second position before the spring action that prevents you from
over startings no working
i did notice that when this first started the starter was only going when i
was in P,N,R but not in drive could this just be the the PRNDL switch?
Tried pulling the 25a fuse it stopped the starter but i cant get the truck
to run it just dies should it keep running? I was wondering if i should
reset the key? and try again
i double checked its the right fuse i pulled. i checked the large starter
fuse i removed it and turned the key it seemed like the ignition switch was
moving properly through the positions this was seen by the dash lights?
My wifes on my back I’d like to but cant I’ll let you know what’s happening
early tomorrow. I’m hoping I don’t have to take it in to a shop it will be
the first time in like 10 years
i know the lock cylinder is only mechanical but could the anti theft need
resetting?
