You may want to test the master switch to see if there’s power going to and from the switch. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

I cannot figure out what is wrong I have a 99 Chevy blazer and only the diver side power door lock works, it locks from the liftgate and both pwr locks in front but all other locks do not work by pressing the buttons and there is no sound heard from other doors

If it’s a plastic trim piece, you might have to see if your local dealer has one. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Rich Valentine says:

The piece that is on the window fell off, can I get a new part for this? Sorry for the latch on a 96 blazer

cdnart1 says:

had that issue in my 2001 Jimmy, heard whir of actuator, no unlatching. The issue was the clip on the end of the actuator was missing and not pulling the latch. Took off back plastic as in video, but had to use offset screwdriver and sense of feel to remove the screw mentioned at 1:13 video. Once plastic off could see actuator arm moving so drilled 1/16 hole in arm and wired to metal latch release. Works great now.

cdnart1 says:

My 2001 Jimmy is identical The phillips screw (1:13) is an issue when the glass won’t open. The screw holds the trim on. My answer was careful work with a offset screw driver. You can feel the screw with your finger so you can remove it with an offset screw driver from the inside. After removing the trim I could see there was a clip missing that connected the (working) solenoid arm to the latch. A 1/16 drill and some wire and my hatch opens again. thanks for the video. GM doesn’t make it easy

You will have to get the tailgate down so you can access all of the locking mechanisms inside the tailgate itself .

If there’s power to the actuator, then the actuator may be bad if it’s not working correctly. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1aauto says:

You may have to remove the plastic paneling in the back and see if the latch is actually disengaging or not.

If the tumbler is jambed, you would try to spray a little WD 40 in it to see if it will free up for you.

1aauto says:

Unfortunately we do not have a tool list of how to remove the door panel from the inside.

Jachob Taylor says:

do i need any special tools to do it from the inside?

1aauto says:

You may have to take the door panel off and pop the tailgate open from inside of the door so that you can work on it.

Jachob Taylor says:

how do you do this when it is stuck close?

1aauto says:

You may want to check the fuse to the hatch first, and then test the wire with a test light or an ohm meter to see if there’s power going to the door lock actuator.

You may want to check the wire harness between the drivers side door and the body of the vehicle, for a broken or frayed wire. Hope this helps you out.

Part 1:
Hi, thanks for the prompt response. There does seem to be power in the hatch area since the rear hatch window (split hatch) pops open when I push on the button that is found on the dash on the right side of the steering wheel.

subbinblazer says:

Part 2:
I also noticed that my driver side door doesn’t lock when i lock the car using the aftermarket remote alarm or when i lock he doors using the electronic lock switch found on the door panel. I did notice that if I lock the door manually (pushing down on the lock switch near the handle) it does lock the driver side door and hatch. When I try to unlock the car, the passenger front door locks along with the rear doors except the driver and hatch.

subbinblazer says:

Part 2:
The way I have to open the driver side door is by using the key and that way it unlocks the driver side and hatch door. The driver side door doesn’t make that locking sound when the doors are locked/unlocked. My passenger and rear doors do it, but not the driver side door. I’d like to know if you can help me out on this problem, so i can go ahead and order the part needed from your site. Thanks

1aauto says:

It there’s power to the door lock actuators and they just don’t seem to work, it may be that the door lock actuators have gone bad. 1aauto says:

You may want to check the power going to the door lock actuator in the lift gate. If the door lock actuator does have power going to it, it could be the door lock actuator.
