If the cables are broke, you would need to replace the window regulator. We carry new window regulators on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 FREE SHIPPING in the lower 48 states.

mohawkedinjun says:

So if my cables are snapped, I must replace the whole unit? Sorry, trying to find the best solution

1aauto says:

We carry new window regulators with the window motor for your truck on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 Free shipping too in the lower 48 states. One does’t really out last the other.

Thelonius Chestang says:

My motor (Chevy Silverado) seems to be working (I can hear it) but the window doesn’t really come down or go up well. It clicks and requires repeat tries to get the window up – so seems to be the regulator. Assuming this to be true, does it make sense to also replace the motor? Looks like the motor is only about $30 more and I’d be in there already. Do the motors last much longer than the regulators? What should I expect the labor to cost on the regulator?

1aauto says:

yes you can but normally that is an extra step that most don’t want to have to go through. We sell the window regulators through our website with the motor already installed.

jumpma1 says:

Also can I replace the regulator without having to replace the window motor?

1aauto says:

There are people that sell aftermarket install kits for these vehicles. Something like that will require some extensive wiring and installing of switches as well as the relay system.

jacob hau says:

i have a 2003 chevy silverado singlecab and i want power windows and mine never came with them and i was wondering if this process would work for putting them in

1aauto says:

HI Tracy, I’m not sure if all of them were from us, we do have some very good quality mirrors. What’s the year make model and series of your truck. I’ll see if we have and economy regulator and a more higher quality one. If you want you can also call our sales staff at 888-844-3393 is might be quicker and easier for you, they can view your order. Best Regards, 1aauto.com

Tracy Johnson says:

I’m just about to order my third regulator in 3 years. Am I buying cheap regulators or is something else going on that i’m not aware of.

1aauto says:

Something may have broke on the window regulator, which has caused it to jam. You may want to take a look at it. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

jessica harris says:

mine wont go up 99 1500 psngr sd window clicks wen u try n put it up.

1aauto says:

It is going to be either the window regulator or the switch. It could also be an issue with the power or ground wire to the motor. Opening up the door and checking it out will be the best bet at this point.

brandon estrada says:

Hello the passenger’s window on my 2000 silverado doesn’t go up nor down. Idk if it’s either the motor or something else?

1aauto says:

You may want to take the door panel off of the door to see if anything has broke inside the door, which could be preventing the window from going down. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Kirk Cardwell says:

Drivers window switch on y 2001 Silverado is making a double clicking noise when pushed down passenger window is fine! Never had issue with window until yesterday! At least its in the up position! could it be just a relay? or is motor shoot? Already replaced switch!!

epim80 says:

epim80 says:

Just ordered regulator for my 01 Silverado. Thanks for the video. Will let you know how it turns out. I have snapped cables.

1aauto says:

If the cables are broke and have the glass jambed into place, you may need to cut the cable so that you can lower the glass, before you replace the window regulator with a new one.

1aauto says:

If the window regulator is fine, we do sell just the window motor on our website with FREE SHIPPING. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1aauto says:

Ask him if he tested it with an ohm meter and if he recommends that you replace the relay. Usually a new relay isn’t a whole lot of money and should fix the issue, if that’s what’s causing it.

Albert Arvizo says:

question what about if the switch burns the regulator, can the problem be a electrical problem with a relaid or something. the guy that fix my window said if i connect the switch that makes the window go up and down was gonna burn my regulator again. Can u tell me what’s the problem gmc sierra 99 5.3 engine thanx

1aauto says:

HI Ken, It should just come apart as shown in the video. Our truck wasn’t to hard to make this repair on.

kc zee says:

hi mike,

your video’s great! i followed it to the T and had no problems, till i tried to seperate the regulator from the window. it wouldn’t seperate. my truck is a 2000 gmc sierra 2500. have you got any suggestions?

thanks allot,
ken

balkangrown says:

p.s there is no reason to change the tracks too

balkangrown says:

You did not just replace the power window regulator but even the tracks the most expensive way and easy I guess..what about just the regulator itself ?? Is cheaper

Kevin McNeese says:

how would I remove the slides if I can’t use the motor to lower the tabs that hold the glass? My glass is stuck in the up position, so the slides are jammed against the bottom inside the door opening.
