My ’01 Blazer began to take longer to kick over this month. Noticed it
started really fast when engine was cold, but after operation and sitting
for about 20 to 30 minutes and restarting, it would take 2 to 3 seconds
crank time to kick over. This sorta seemed to begin after I installed a new
Delphi Fuel pump ..

Took to GM, they cleaned MAF and replaced the air filter, made no mention
of any fuel pump problems, good fuel pressure etc, was put on diagnostic
and no issues came up. Problem was corrected for about 2 weeks, now its
beginning to do the same thing. It also idles a bit rough but nothing
serious .. i was wondering if this is related to the MAF as well? Ive owned
the truck for just over a year and its always idled a tad rough but runs
great otherwise. Would really appreciate some suggestions!!!

Hey, like the videos…question, I have a 96 chevy tahoe, engine light
luminated. Code displayed airflow sensor. Changed sensor, still same
problem/code. Any suggestions

1A Auto Parts says:

Normally with the OBDII socket not working it it either because the PCM is
bad or the fuse for the socket is fried.

1A Auto Parts says:

I’d start with replacing the part that’s throwing the code to see if that
helps. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

I though the same thing

deltawolf1124 says:

ive replaced the MAF and the MAP sensores and still nothing. my dad
suggested theres a possibility its the spark plugs/wiresit keeps giving me
a bad mass air flow or volume range/performance, and bank too lean 1&2

tomandkarolyn123 says:

Take the cover off the filter air box first. Then you won’t have to struggle
getting the sensor in between the two hoses.

RobCrue2266 says:

Dude, you just saved me about 100 dollars in mechanic fees. Thanks!

1A Auto Parts says:

You may get a check engine light that come up with a code that points to a
bad mass air flow, or the vehicle may start to run rough.

Harlan Huff says:

how do you adjust the throttle

jakewilliamson42 says:

Alright thanks. Your videos help me out alot!

1A Auto Parts says:

If you haven’t given it a good tune up in a while you could try that.

1A Auto Parts says:

What you could also check for is any restrictions inside the intake hose.
If the Air filter is clogged, this will throw a code as well.

1A Auto Parts says:

If you have the fly by wire throttle, you cannot adjust it. If you have the
cable throttle body, you will have to replace the cable since there is no
adjustment.

bamagym says:

what is the purpose of replacing this? what are the symptoms that you need
to replace? thanks.

1A Auto Parts says:

@dderrick2007 The idle on the vehicle may surge.

deltawolf1124 says:

the intake hose from the MAF is clean to my knowledge, maybe a bit dirty is
all, and the air filter is brand new actually.

1A Auto Parts says:

Sometimes engine lights can mean several different things and reasons as to
why that part is not working You could have an issue with the air filter,
air box, or possibly the intake hose. Checking everything out will be the
best bet at this point including the wiring for the sensor for any
corrosion or damages wires.

1A Auto Parts says:

Thanks for watching. Have a great day! 1aauto.com

1A Auto Parts says:

It might be. You may want to check the Idle Air Control valve (IAC) first
though, as these are usually more likely to cause a surging issue.

blazeout2007 says:

Thank you this was excellent. I watched this and went straight outside and
my girlfriend’s 14 year old brother took it out I cleaned it and HE put it
back in. You made this very very easy!!

jakewilliamson42 says:

When I try to pass someone it will stall. Do you think this could be what’s
wrong. I replaced the fuel filter and it was pretty dirty but it didn’t fix
anything.

deltawolf1124 says:

MAF was going bad so i replaced it, and it drove perfect for about 2 days
and then my engine light came on again and started driving like garbage
again. no acceleration/terrible throttle response. engine code P0101. its
been suggested a bad o2 sensor or cat, i just hope i dont have replace all
the wires. what would you suggest?
