Hello, I have an S10 that the hub fell apart on the road. So I am missing a bunch of parts. Is there a rebuild kit I can get?
HOLY MOLY!!!! Been looking for hours now for a video like this. I can finally get my dad’s truck finished. First time doing bearings. No other video mentioned that the new rotors had the race installed. That was my biggest hang-up. Thank you so much for posting this. It is the exact truck my dad has and your instructions were super awesome! I cannot say thank you enough, but THANK YOU!
fantastic video. definitely going to change my brakes, calipers and rotors on my 2001 s-10 this weekend. Saving me hundreds! Thanks!
The bearings for the blazer are not in the rotors but are instead a separate hub and bearing combo.
This the same for an 01 2wd blazer?
yes the set up is very similar. You might find that there are different bolts holding everything together but the concept of the bearing being in the actual rotor is the same.
Would this be the same for a 91 s10?
Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
My ’93 just clocked 208,000 miles with the original wheel bearings….I think I’ll do this on my day off today. Also, very helpful videos. Thanks for helping us out.
You’re best bet would be to replace the whole rotor with the bearings. Normally if the bearing is going bad, it wobbles causing the rotor to touch the brake pads and wear unevenly.
My 99 s-10 p/u has 225K miles. I’m hearing a pretty loud noise from the front end when going over a curb especially when the wheel is turned. Should I buy a new hub or just replace the bearings and races?
Thanks for the video.
Unfortunately if you are getting a noise from the front end, the bearings are starting to break down and need to be replaced.
I have a 94 s10 4×2 pickup with 108k miles. When I checked the front wheel bearings. I have some play. I would have to get my dial indicator to find how much. I do not have odd sounds or play when driving. I have some squealing with back up but I think that is my brakes. Can these be adjusted at all and if so would you?
Thank you.
If the vehicle has a lot of miles on it, it wouldn’t hurt to put a new one in. It’s not that hard to do.
Mechanic told me I don’t need to worry about replacing the race, as they usually never go bad. Is this true?
Is it necessary to replace the race. A mechanic told me that they usually never go bad and I could just replace the bearing?
New rotors usually have a race already installed in them.
Hey men i have a question. I replace the rotors on my 96 chevy pickup 1500. The new rotors should come with the race installed?
Good stuff, The tips on removing the seal and bearing races was helpful, as I’d never replaced wheel bearings on an S10 before.
I’m about to do it for my ’91. lol I hoping for nothing less than bits of metal coming out as I open the dust cap.
Unfortunately the equinox is different that this because instead of having a bearing inside the rotor, the vehicle has the bearing integrated into the hub itself.
Two quick yes no questions. is this fairly close to doing a 2005 chevy equinox? Or is it more involved because of the all wheel drive? Thanks
Thank you for checking us out. Have a great day!

So do all rotor assemblies come with the race installed for the s10 pickup? Im getting ready to order a set from advance auto for my 2000 s10 and just want to make sure. Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make these and post them.
