Thanks for posting this video. It helped me save my Mom a bunch of money
by doing the work for her!
mine had a 17mm bolt on the outside of the caliper and you needed a 18mm
wrench on the inside bolt or it would turn.
I did a 03 yesterday its a 36
Well, I was just going to replace the hub, but now I see I might as well do
hubs, pads, and rotors on both sides.
Is 2wd and 4wd hub the same? Thanks
Awesome video. I just did my wife’s 2006 Trailblazer and this was a great
help to me as I had never done one of these before. Unfortunately, you were
out of stock on the hub assembly that I needed but I will make a purchase
from you in the future as my way of saying thank you. BTW… I am the one
guy who needed to hit the assembly more than one time to get it off.
@jonz47 There’s already grease inside of them.
It may, I would probably take a look at the wheel bearings first though.
Better angles would be nice.. Great video though

2002 GMC Envoy uses a 36mm hub socket. Excellent video. Thank you!
DO you advise using antiseize lube on the hub bracket bolts? Will it effect
the torque settings?
Thanks for watching, Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
thanks, dude. this really helped me out.
liquid wrench did the trick and some time…… now to replace the one that
should of been replaced!!! 🙁
I need please change ball joints on trailblazer 2003 help me
Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
how much would you estimate this job to cost in a shop? Do you figure maybe
an 1 and half per wheel?
It should take you about an hour a side, if it’s your first time replacing
them. Thanks for checking us out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Thank you for posting this video! I just did this same job on my 02
trailblazer ls but the only difference I came across is the axle nut socket
was a 36mm not a 35mm
Awesome video! Very helpfu,l very clear and good audio except for one or
two drop outs. Although I have a manual and have done a few of these type
of repairs in teh past, it sure makes life easy to see a pro do it first. I
don’t even have to open teh manual now. The tool listing at teh start also
helped me a lot. Saved me the hassle of running out after I started the job
for that 35mm socket! This is especially helpful for anyone repairing their
only means of transportation. Thanks Guys!
Is this process the same for a 4wd?
Excellent service you provide with these videos, I will definitely buy my
parts from you guys. Would the procedure be similar for a 2001 GMC Yukon?
Thanks so much for your video, very helpful. We have an ABS & check engine
light on in our 2005 TB. Took the TB to have the check engine code checked
& while driving the TB noticed a grinding noise coming from the drivers
side wheel. When the TB was hooked up to check for the check engine codes
the computer also indicated a bad left ABS sensor, would a bad sensor also
create the grinding noise that we are hearing or is it likely that the
whole hub bearing assembly is bad and should be replaced?
The inline 6 and the V8 trailblazer are the same in how you remove the
front wheel bearings.
@cygnussbill Time wise, it should take about an hour or so per wheel. The
hourly rate ranges from shop to shop.
I owe you big time, I can’t tell you how much time and money you saved me.
Thanks
@queenmab2009 This vehicle is 4WD so it would be the same.
It will make it easier to remove those bolts the next time you have to
service the hub or brakes. It won’t effect the torque settings.
At 5:00 I’ve noticed I don’t have a “hub nut” is that a normal occurrence?
I lack them on both front wheels. It’s on a 2007 2wd lt
This video is great but for a 4wd. 2wd does not have an axle so you won’t
need the 35mm socket. Also,on my 02 which I have owned since new, has 17mm
bolts on caliper and bracket instead of 13mm and 18mm. Very easy
replacement if you can do a brake job.
On the 2WD model you wouldn’t have them. The Trailblazer shown in the video
is a 4WD model, and that nut helps to secure the axle into the hub. Hope
this helps you out.
Most likely the grinding noise is going to be the wheel bearing itself.
Normally when the bearing goes bad, the sensors tone ring does not line up
correctly for the sensor to read it.
