There was a change from the 1996 to the 1997 model year. You could have a late 1996. You can take the VIN number from the vehicle & visit our FuelPumpU website to find the correct fuel pump for your application. If you need further help, you can also call our free tech line: 800-424-7839. Thanks for watching.

Hello Killian, In order to keep the videos from being too long we’ve broken out some of the special steps…GM Wiring Harness How-To being one of them. Please check out our ‘How to Install New GM Wire Harness on Fuel Pump Module” video. It will show you the step-by-step instructions for the pigtail wiring. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

It will be difficult as the tank may be too tall to come out from under the truck after it is dropped. It will work a lot better if you can at least raise the rear of the truck up with a jack & place it on jack stands. This will give you the extra height needed to remove the tank.

Is it possible to drop the tank with the truck on the ground? Shade-tree style?

Thanks for your kind words! Our desire is to produce the best videos we can to help people with their fuel pump diagnoses and installs. It’s so nice to get confirmation that they are doing just that. Thanks again!
