If you have issues with the door pinching the coax, try running it through
your firewall. It’s kind of a hard job in some vehicles, but there’s
usually a large rubber grommet where your wiring harness passes through the
firewall, you can just poke a small hole in it and run your coax through
there so it comes out under your dash and isn’t in the way of any moving
parts like your door.

Samuel Gonzalez says:

Awsome I’m interested in that for my gmc

denny roe says:

Could have spliced it into a wire under the dash for a power source

Robert Stanley says:

Cool man. Ham is the way too go.

Jordan Hooper says:

I hope that K30 is working good for you. I’ve NEVER liked a K antenna
(K30/K40 etc). If you want a good magnet base, go with a Wilson. I believe
Wilson also makes the K antennas, but the coils are different and trust
me… the Wilsons have the leg up on quality. I bought a brand new K40 mag
mount one day, TRIED for hours to get the SWR out, and finally sold it the
next week. Junk, junk, junk.

Looks good. The speaker zip ties will break overtime so please check them.

Joe Smith says:

You could have got a 10 meter radio for the price you paid for that. If you
get one, run it to the battery and get an external speaker and a good mic
(astatic or road king) and with an external speaker, you will lose the PA
so you can have talk back. you will ruin your coax with it pinching the
door like that, it will break the “stinger”. If you get a “big radio”, stay
away from magnet antennas, get a good fiberglass one or metal one so it
will have a good ground on the bracket.
