So what if the window wont lock? Is the lock itself bad or is there
something I can do to fix? (89 s10 Blazer)

model but myine is a 91 olds bravada but same concept well later days (FR)

belizetj says:

Oh i havent seen this one. Looks good flat black.

madman1124 says:

@Ferrous738 do you mean the two “pins” on the side of each side of the tail
gate that the tailgate latches to? if yes I can check on mine to see if
they are indeed the same diameter and length.

i have an 89 gmc jimmy s15 4.3 v6 and i have the digital dash as you
do…..but my gauges arent working…the gas, heatand one other gauge dont
work…would you know how to fix that??btw great vids man!! keep up the
good work!!

Ferrous738 says:

yes, the pins. I have the same issue with the lock where it’s slipping.
Plan to fix that today and see if the issue is resolved. I’ll keep you
posted. Thanks again!

madman1124 says:

@swimfanruiz325 no problem man, thanks for the complements, yea it is
almost exactly the same thing, just like the blazer it has different badges
and trim, got more how-to’s to come, if you ever want to know something
give me a shout and will see what I can do. have a great day mate!’

madman1124 says:

well whatr I did was peel away the plastic on top, you will see a little
lever you can push down and it will compleatly release the window, I wish I
had my ol truck to show you how :(, I just pulled back the upper plactic
cover from the inside and saw the mechanism, then once open you can open
everything and replace the handle assembly, if you happen to be in canada I
have a new one laying around, pm me for details 🙂

Ferrous738 says:

Great “how to” video. I have the same issue with the tailgate; however, the
strikers were missing. I assume they are the same size strikers as the
front doors, which can also be used on the tailgate? I’ve replaced the
strikers but now the tailgate refuses to shut and lock onto the strikers.
Any suggestions?

i had the same problem with my 87 gmc jimmy the glass wouldnt open gmcs
have a wonderfull ideas but anyways i sprayed Buster on it( which is the
same thing to losen tight bolts) it cleaned up all the rust and dirt and
now it works with flying colors so try that befor u go and buy a 60 dollar
back window latch

I have a 1989 Chevy S10 Blazer Tahoe. The tailgate knob broke today and now
it just goes round and round and doesn’t engage the latch to open the
closed tailgate. Sucks because I couldn’t get my two filthy dogs back in
without them going in from the front door. I will try to fix it tomorrow as
you show in this video. Thanks a bunch!

madman1124 says:

@sexybologna111 well lets start from the beginning, when you “throw down”
the glass does it click in or does it just ouce back?, to me it sounds like
either the black locking setup that sticks up may be out of alignment, next
could be the part that grabs the metal loop is not grabbing on in the lock,
if you want do a quick video of how it is trying to close and by the sound
I may be able to help you, just send me a link or a message with the link
to the video. can help if needed

madman1124 says:

@TheAdioman126 hmm, when you turn the key to before run does the guages
that are not working lick up then go to blank? if they do not then it is
the gauges them selves or the control on the gauges, if it does then you
have either a problem with the wiring between it and the sensor, a bad
ground on the sensor, a bad sensor or a bad connection somewhere. if I have
time during the week when it warms up then I will try and do a “how to
test” sensors and gauges.

robertrangelak says:

i cant get my back hatch open, can i pop the lock from the inside- being
unable to open the window or door?

TheFamilyman1976 says:

Too much moving around, hard for me to see the fix
