You could try to place some anti-squeak grease to the back of the brake pads to see if that quiets them down. You can buy it at your local auto parts store. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
ok so now after changing rotors and brakes i get a squeal noise. i took out all rust from the calipers and the small metal bracket in there to make sure the new pads sit good but other than that i didnt grease anywhere. i did clean the rotors tho with brake cleaner. where the hell am i suppose to oil to avoid squeal?
That issue wouldn’t have anything to do with the repair on the front wheel bearing that you made. You may want to check for a possible bad EGR valve, or maybe a loose or cracked vacuum line.
Great video! Just replace front wheel bearing on 03 envoy left front, job went well no issues, vehicle will start and stall now anything i should check or related to repair?
You will want to check and make sure that none of the bolts came free and the caliper is sliding around. Sometimes there is a break in period on new pads and they will make some noise in the beginning of its life.
We put new pads and rotors on, but now driving it sounds like someone is jumping up and down on metal bedspring when brake is applied. Seems to be coming from front right, not sure what we did wrong? Pedal still feels strong
You may want to check to see if the caliper is hitting the tire, or if something isn’t on correctly. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
We have changed the calipers and rotors. Now we can’t get the tire to go back on it won’t go all the way on. Please help.
If it’s both rotors you may have put something together wrong.
ok i have changed my breaks and rotors and on my test drive i heard a noise like metal on metal. So i checked it out and it looks like something is digging into the rotors basically carving a line in them. Need help I have no idea whats going on.
It the brake pedal pulsates when apply the brakes, you’re rotors may need to be changed. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Why didn’t you use brake pad grease. I always get that annoying squeaky sound when I don’t use it. How is it you’re able to put the pads on without the grease and avoid the noise? Thank you.
why does my brakes vibrate?
Thanks for the video. Much appreciated. Think i’m ready to tackle the breaks on my trailblazer.
Good video man ty 🙂
If you haven’t added any fluid between the last brake pad change, then the fluid would go back up to the same point it was at at the last pad change.
Question: Do you have to open the brake fluid reservoir and/or remove any fluid before compressing the calipers?
Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
thank you so much! it cost me a total of $49 and 30mins. The shop wanted to charge me $160 and 2hours of wait time for just front pads before taxes. its Christmas time i need every dime i can save.

I thought the 13mm socket/wrench was for the caliper bolts, but my 2002 Envoy needed a 17mm socket and wrench for the caliper bolts. I am thinking it is probably not OE, or the Canadian trucks may have some different specs. But, the video was a great help.
No it gets applied to the side of the pads that touch the pistons on the caliper, not the rotor.
When you say “back”, are you talking about the friction surface?
You could put some anti- squeak lubricant on the back of the pads to see if that quiets them down.
I have a 2006 gmc envoy and i replaced the brakes and everything seemed fine. Now the brakes squeal terrible and I know the pads are still in tact and the rotors as well. What about shims? And do you need to lubricate any components? Thanks.
yup, that helped. thanks man…everything stopped leaking
You should be able to just tighten them with regular hand tools without going to crazy, to get them to stop leaking. You may want to check it to see it there’s anything wrong with the threads on the bolt. Hope this helps you out.
hey question…I know this is irrelevant to a front brake job but I am painting my calipers on my trailblazer ss and I had to tighten to brake line bolt super tight before it would stop leaking fluid…these bolts don’t need torque do they?
