Full heater core replacement (the easy way) on a 2007 GMC Sierra and similar models

Today we have a video of the full replacement process for a heater core on a 2007 GMC Sierra classic body style. The procedure is the same for many other GM trucks:
99-07 Chevrolet Silverado classic body style
99-06 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL
99-06 Cadillac Escalade (EXT, EVS)
99-06 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban
99-06 Chevrolet Avalanche
03-07 Hummer H2 (dash and firewall are a little different but the heater box is the same.)
It is easier than it looks, the dash has to come out, but it comes out as an assembly and only needs to be pulled back, not totally removed.

This man knows what he's talking about thank you!

E C says:

I was worried about it being a head gasket because I couldn't see the leak at first… Kinda wish it was the head gasket after seeing this lol

100% the best and easiest video on removing the dash. Watched it about 6 times and decided to tackle it myself. Got to the HVAC box in 2 hours. Saved me a lot of money too! Thank you!!

Project LS Performance says:

Roughly how many hours did the job take? I'll be performing the same repair soon. I'm fortunate enough to have access to a shop with a good assortment of tools.

Mitchell Parker says:

This can be a nightmare to do if you don't plan it out, if you take notes, pictures and right down the steps it will still take time but you can do it. Sure beats the price at the shop! Also replace those actuator motors while you're in there!

IDABAYAREA650I says:

WAIT ?? Did you remove the steering wheel Shaft?**

Todd C says:

Your version of doing this is way more logical and faster without taking apart extra stuff like some other people's vids do, Thanks

I have a 2004 Tahoe with the center/floor console; I assume I will have to take this out too?

The Guns N' Glory Show says:

If my dash comes out, it stays out.

The Guns N' Glory Show says:

Dad always said if he got hold of an engineer, he would break his neck for building crap like this. He said that they shouldnt be able to design anything that goes into a vehicle unless the engineer had at least 15 years on the floor. (experience requiring soap) I'll carry on the tradition, given the opportunity.

Roger Embry says:

I had a 91 ford heater core leaking, easiest one I ever changed, drop grove box down two bolts on cover, heater core right there

I did a c4 corvette once, worst job I ever did

Exibuchay says:

That's amazing. It took you less than 10 minutes to get the heater core out. I am truly impressed. Actually I'm intimidated Beyond belief. You sure make it look easy. Even with the obvious editing to shorten the video. If I ever have to, I'll be back watching this video at least a hundred times. So you got that to look forward to. Thanks bro

Very good video so glad it was made. Seeing 1st ha d what a pain it's going to be, I'm putting my 07 silverado 4×4 in the shop. I know I have no patience like you do pro.

Jonah LaManda says:

What size disconnect was used ?

Holden Breau says:

how did you rule out or confirm the core was leaking before deciding to take this all part?

Gene K says:

Is it a big difference with an 2010 GMC Yukon Denali heater core replacement?

Anthony Nicholich says:

If the heater core was made from quality materials like my 27 year old 456.000 miles Toyota T100 is wouldn't have to do that.
Domestic cars suck and pickups suck the most and yet they sell a lot it tells you how studid average consumer is here in America.

Camaro Mods Channel says:

Jerry Watkins says:

You make it look easy.

Eduardo Martinez says:

Hey GoodMorning scott I have a quick question for you. What do you do if the blower motor housing was messed up now my blower motor doesn’t hold in place on a 2002 Chevy silverado. When I bought it it dint have a blower motor I bought one and when I went to put it in I noticed the clips or plastic in the housing that holds it when you turn it in place where missing or broken ???? Any ideas ?

Ken Uber says:

You'd have friends, if you would just clean things a little!! LOL

Jim Pittman says:

Can I put the front clip of a 2022 silverado on it?

dave1135 says:
