Good place for a stick welder. The bolts should hold but maybe cut a plate
with a couple holes to spread the load a bit more?
some 6010 stick welding would have been perfect and a cover with 7018

I know who I’m calling to help with the fab when I install a 3/4t ifs diff
in my half ton! look like it should hold. But how did he manage to break
it? does he have a locker in the front? I have heard of breaking the
mounting ear off the diff when locked and in a bind, but have never heard
nor seen it break the mount off the frame.

I hate those hard to reach spots. Worst one I had was a toss up between
the frame on a backhoe and the frame on a 14,000lb forklift Had to remove
the drivetrains and cabs from both.
