I did what blackdog recommended, if you are careful and use small
screwdriver and pliers no dash removal required. You do run the risk of
screwing it up if you are not careful, but took about 30 seconds. The old
lighter got chewed up in the process but it is trash anyway.

blackdog1960les says:

I just changed mine — you dont need to take any thing off — the old
covers pop out with a small screwdriver and the new ones just push in and
snap in place — dont make it harder than it has to be !

brentmlb says:

can you tell me if the cig adapters run off seperate fuses. the one on the
right and one in the lower console do not work. only one working is the one
nearest the driver.

Larry L. Wells says:

Drew, Thanks for saving me a trip to the dealership for a simple install.
Instructions were spot on!!! Replaced two caps in less than an hour.

devon fowler says:

Why can’t your just start at 2:00. Is the other pannel in the way?

Drew Anderson says:

Thats too funny. My latch on the console is starting to break also and
believe or not, we have to replace the whole top.I do have it on my watch
list on ebay but its pretty expensive. Please copy and paste : 07-13
SILVERADO SIERRA GM CENTER Titanium CONSOLE LID & LATCH on ebay. It used to
be $107 but it has gone up just like gas. Thanks again for the awesome
feedback! Oh by the way congratulations on the engagement!

Drew Anderson says:

Hi Zoua, thanks for watching my vid. Are you replacing the stereo in your
Silverado with the same factory stereo? Thanks, Drew

amejia14 says:

very educational videos … will you be (or could you) make a video on how
to replace the latch for the center console located in the front seat
between the driver and the passenger? my latch broke and I am having a hard
time finding a part number for it … it would be nice if the dealership
guys would just tell me what it is but I swear it’s like they don’t like me
or something, lol.

Zoua Pha says:

This was a good video. However, is it possible for you to make a video on
how to replace the stereo for a 2013 Silverado? From this video, I think
its similar but more detail would help as I am going to do it myself.
Thanks lots.

eadracing says:

What’s the actual part number?

Fadi92ful says:

Thank you , But why changing it anyway !!??

Zoua Pha says:

Hi drew, I’m planning to put in an aftermarket double din cd stereo. I have
a 2 dr WT ’13. Thanks for your response.

Drew Anderson says:

Thanks for the great feedback! First I would go to the dealer and ask them
if your truck is pre-wired for the auxiliary panel for your cigarette
lighter / USB charger port and if it is then you can buy the part from the
dealer or go to ebay and look up ” OEM Instrument Panel Switch Cover
Traction Control Switch ” and for $22 you can upgrade your new GMC. Thanks
again and check out my other vids!

Drew Anderson says:

you can try to to pull the stereo trim out with the steering wheel panel
still attached but they both over lap and makes it really difficult to
maneuver causing the bezel clamps to snap off or even worse, brezel trim to
crack.

Drew Anderson says:

GM OEM 20983936

Ali Bader says:

Nice work Drew, i just bought new GMC truck with no USB port or cig.
lighter installed in it. I need to know how to install both please. Thanx

Drew Anderson says:

because the black cap for the chargers tend to break off.

Drew Anderson says:

no problem buddy. Thanks for watching!

stchman says:

Hey Drew, no need to remove the lower panels like that, the panel
surrounding the radio simply pops off.

Drew Anderson says:

Trust me, it doesnt simply pop off. It is alot easier and less stressful to
have the steering panel off and it only takes a minute to do.

Drew Anderson says:

No problem buddy! Thanks for the Positive feedback. Like and Subcribe. I
will be making other vids soon

Drew Anderson says:

I will make a video showing you how to remove or replace your OEM stereo. I
hope this will help you. Thanks again for watching my videos and please let
me know if my video helps. I will upload it today or tomorrow.

Brian Able says:

exactly what i was looking for! Thanks!!!

Drew Anderson says:

Hi LeRoy, If you check out my other video ” How TO remove your factory
Stereo for a Silverado/GMC ” it should show what is underneth the outer
bezel. Please let me know if this helps. Thanks buddy! Drew

James Hill says:

Drew, I have a 2007 Yukon…is the dash easy to replace? Mine cracked on
the top…GMC here in Florida is telling me $1200.. James

rc6257 says:

Man………great video. I was able to do this job in 15 minutes cuz you
put together an easy-to-follow video. Much Thanks

LeRoy Parson says:

I have a question. I want to replace the panel between my cig lighter and
bluetooth plug. I am not sure whats underneath the outer bezel though. I
want to add the panel with the back up sensor and the traction control to
use the sensor switch for another accessory. Currently I only have the one
with the traction control. im not sure if the bezel is one peice and i have
something different or if there is an outer cover over the panel
