Replace those noisy wheel bearings before they get worse! This video tutorial provides steps to complete the process of replacing a worn 4WD hub wheel bearing assembly. In this video I cover replacing he bearing, lubricating the caliper pins and replacing the ABS sensor wire. The vehicle in this video was a 1998 Chevy Blazer, but the process covered in the video will be the same or similar on many other GMC 4WD vehicles. Some of the vehicles that the wheel bearing process would be the same on are S10 Pickup Truck GMC Jimmy Chevy Blazer Tahoe K1500 Silverado, Sierra and many more.
thanks for the video i need to do my truck and that helped alot thank you

How to Repair a Front Wheel Bearing hup to blazer 97? Thas possible?
thx bud, great vid!
Thank You !!!!Very Much
excellent instructions. not everyone appreciates the many uses of cars cleaner….love it! I would be mindful to mention that WD40 would not be a good substitute however. Also love the manual torque wrench technique. I've got one just like it.
I installed a used one but did not have a o ring? could this cause an issue?
How did u put the brake pads back i can't get the caliper pin bolts off because there a t55 bolt n just strips it when i try taking it out
mark is it the same for a 1998 blazer LT .i need to change my hub on the left side .but the parts are expensive at auto zone .im going to buy them online two for 50 bucks .ill change the two of them .i may need ball joints too ill use moog for that not the cheap ones from auto zone
thank you for this video. it only took me 2 hours instead of who knows how long. the long part was getting the 18mm bolts loose.
thank you for your video it is very helpful . my truck is a 98 GMC JIMMY
Would this work for a 2000 bravada All wheel drive? My son is going to
give it to but it has a noise front right and he said it is the wheel
bearing. when I do it I might do both sides.
my 2005 chevy Colorado 4×4 crew cab with 200000 miles is getting new front brakes and bearings put in today. I enjoyed your video, so I have an idea what they did, I also watched a video of knee replacement surgery, only after both of my knees were replaced, I was a bit too intimidated to watch that before hand. Up to this time except for brakes, tires oil changes, etc, the Colorado has only required a tie rod replacement and a new water pump and belt, I hope it and I last much longer.
This is just like the 1995 blazer right. Same sockets n tools?
after checking with MacMulkin Chevy in Nashua NH the 103 ft lbs is correct. Funny how different sources gives different specs.
Thanks for the video on the 4×4 wheel hub replacement this is my next project on my blazer.
the torque on my 2000 blazer is 133 foot pounds and it is important. goto http://www.torkspec.com to check your blazer
where did you get the dust shields ? I need to do my CV axle and wheel bearing so thanks for the video. Also I have extra ball joints need a video for these too. You have great video and you go over all the potential problems one may have. I know from experience as I did not torque one caliper bolt.
Great vid Mark! I don't miss doing that work at all!! lol
On some ABS systems I've come across, it's not good to push the pistons back in without cracking the bleeder valve loose to let the fluid/pressure vent via it. I chuckled a bit when the bearing separated……I worked in a shop for a bit and it was a common practice to "separate" the bearing like that on front wheel drive cars to swap drive shafts…..saved having to disconnect the ball joint or strut and needing to get it realigned. Not great for the bearing, but that's what they did.
What happened to your 98 K1500?
Great videos Mark. My father in law has a Blazer that I've done a ton of work on. I was wondering if you've had any issues with the steering. His has a lot of play when you turn the wheel. I've found that it could be a couple of things. Just wondering if you have the same problem and if you plan to address it in the future. Thanks and keep up the great work
