I may have missed it but why did you have to replace the cv axle?
Is this on the awd?
I just put my passenger side Axel in. I didn't find any locking mechanism. Did you have one? I see the cut out in the end of the splines for one. Did you tap the new one in? I'm thinking I need to check and see if it's lose.
