I’ve had mine for almost 3 years. Last summer, only after 2 years, the
nice shiny finished turned dull. They sent me some black finish restorer
that only lasted for 2 weeks before it turned dull. Other than that it’s
rock solid. Looks like I’ll have to fork out some money to have it
professionally painted at an auto body shop.

Installed my F1 in 30 minutes with the bakbox on a 2014 chevy silverado
crew cab. I have the plastic rail caps on there. Installed bakflip rails
over the top and used the bulk head water stop on front. I put some
silicone in the corners where rails meet bulkhead kind off a gap in that
area.

BUD FIELDS says:

Do you have a video for installation on a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab?? I
am interested in getting one of these for my truck.

Received my G2 from Auto Anything last month. Only came with 6 shims not 8
(I have an 8ft bed). I was told by a Bak employee that since I have GM
factory bed rail caps that I didn’t need the shims. The cover leaks in the
front, on both sides in the middle of the bed and by the tailgate. Not
exactly water tight. He also said I didn’t need the front seal. Your video
contradics him in multiple ways.

Todd Henderson says:

I don’t work for Bak but I’ve installed lots of these covers. The front
bulkhead seal is only for you if your bed caps are higher than your
bulkhead. If your bulkhead is as high as the bed caps, don’t use the front
seal. GM trucks are the trickiest because of all the bed cap configurations
so if the rails tip down into the the bed you need shims. Nothing will be
100% water tight but it sounds like you just need to do some adjustments to
make it better.

Also, when the cover is folded up it blocks the 3rd brake light completely.

I have a metal checkered rail (aluminum) cap on my GMC bed rails. I’d like
to keep them but wonder if the checker will interfere with an F1 (or HD…
haven’t decided which yet) install?
