Tried that on my ['66 C10, no way could I get the new grommet in, its much too tight. I ruined it trying. Its way easier to just pull the tank, install the new grommet in the cab, then assemble the filler neck with the rubber hose connector and top clamp and shove it through the grommet from the inside of cab. Then wrestle the tank into place, while feeding its inlet into the filler neck hose. Yeah, its a wrestling match, but I did it with an empty tank, I was replacing the tank and rubber hose connector (and the new grommet) anyway.

Replacing mine and this video was invaluable.

Dave, I know this video is a little over three years old, but if knowing the owner / paint shop, what color code is the brown metallic paint. This a color I want close to on my daily driver. This will be my last build of any kind, because of serious back problems but is someone knows somebody, give them a call and help a 6'3" brother out! Thanks so much as the nylon spud tool is what it is called. DK, ASE Master Tech since 1978, retired! But still want one from my youth! Thanks!

Do you guys have a video that shows how to take off the tail light trim and how to replace the small vent window

@aarontate1667 says:

Greatly appreciate your videos

@MLFranklin says:

I always appreciate your knowledge and explanations, but I'm also wondering if you can also pull the flange of the grommet in from the backside rather than pushing it.

This is great but it would be helpful to see how to replace the fuel filler hose.
