Good video!! How many hours of labor would you charge for this job?
What kind of camera setup do you use . Do you have it on a camera tripod.
Nice info your very clear in easy ti understand
I replaced the quick disconnect with a straight valve and usually find the
bolts that hold down the intake are out of torque spec I have had luck just
retighten
Thank you for the feedback and compliment, I will need to see if I can find
a name on it, had that one for years needs a new lens sleeve its all
scratched up, I got that light from a rebuild center that closed up, at the
time i had two spare lenses, and a box of bulbs i still have some bulbs lol
would like to find out as well so i can buy the lenses its been great for i
would say six years or more
Hey Will, Great informative video as always. Can you tell me where you got
your fluorescent shop light?
oops forgot to mention brand, Fel-Pro rubberized metal gaskets
Thank you, yes I prefer the improved metal backed gasket, however, lots of
times I let the owner pick up parts in a attempt to save me time and them
money, in this case you will see he purchased the other style however its
fine will outlast the rest, at this point in the trucks life I wasn’t to
concerned lol however yes metal backed when I have a choice
Good job Will. Is there a particular brand of intake gasket that you prefer
on a job like this? Thanks for posting.
We used to call it death-cool lol I know its not all the coolants fault, I
due feel something in the original chemistry was lacking though, may be
just fine now, really have no hard evidence like others have mentioned
Thank you for the compliment, thanks for swinging by and watching I
appreciate the feedback thanks again
Cool, so this is like a flash back easer to follow, after you do enough of
these it becomes like sleep walking lol
I remember doing one of these last year. Good video.
Nice to have you back Will. Always a pleasure to watch a craftsman in
action.
I agree with you 100% about that dex cool crap.
Thanks
I know where you are coming from. Plus, Dexcool is a bit more expensive
than green coolant. A lot of my time spent in the business was at various
GM dealers from 1998 to 2008, so it was pretty important to them to make
sure things stayed 100% factory. Another secret motivation for using Dex in
my personal vehicles is that I’ve got quite a stockpile of Dex (and a lot
of other GM branded fluids) from the last job I left in the form of an
unauthorized severance package
Also human interfaces for example the said packaging equipment, timers and
moving parts, we run different box sizes that require changes in the
program, example i would hate to put 50lbs in a 25lb box or a 25lbs box
fills faster the transfer time is faster than on a 50lb if that timer isnt
changed you may start transferring the box out of position before its full
oops, during the initial set up i created different recipes for each box
ran, therefor operator selects box size and off we go
Thanks Will for the reply and I’m sure that the company feels lucky to have
you as a technician.
so my main experience with PLC’s is using to help trouble shoot along with
schematics its nice to bring up logic and see real fast whats stopping
what, oh hey this down stream prox sensor thinks it is made stopping the
line, failed high, things like that most times i can resolve without
however its nice to know, also work along with the programmers during
setup, or if a card fails replace it, where i do get into programming is
VFD’s and such,
It really is to be honest i enjoy it when new equipment comes in, been with
this company going on ten years so when new challenges arrive its nice to
get involved brakes the norm, I do, not so much as far as the initial
installation however i do work hand and hand along with the electricians
even though its not my title, that stems back to my earlier yrs when i was
the only tech on the off shift, had to learn it all took some classes
however main knowledge has been formed hands on.
Thank you for the compliments, that’s awesome and what keeps me posting
thanks agian
Thank you, i could never abandon you guys worked to hard to form this
friendship means to much to me now 🙂 I appreciate it glad to be back
thanks again
🙂 lol thank you feels good to be back i appreciate that
Very true, your welcome anytime
Priorities always come first. Thanks for the video. Take care man
hahaha HOLY $&^^%, good to see you, thank you for the video. Thumbs up.
Good to see you back Will, thought you’d abandoned us…! I know other
things get in the way sometimes, like you say, that’s life. Glad you’re
back and doing well… 🙂
Awesome video! Great to see you again! Learned so much from your videos.
Hey that sounds like some pretty interesting equipment. Do you get a chance
to work with the PLC’s and/or do any of the programming, electrical
hardware design? When I worked in maintenance on industrial equipment, I
always just enjoyed figuring out how those machines worked. To me, it’s all
very interesting.
next inline is the drop machine now this has many options, however lets say
we have a 2000 count bar in place ever every so many seconds it deposits
2000 drops on a belt that then goes through a cooling tunnel, when
discharge then goes through all the packaging equipment, from the box
erector, bag inserter, filling station, box sealer, running at pretty high
speeds, i have been manly setting up the packaging equipment, pretty much
where all the mechanical and logic become one hope that helps
Thank you, trying to be myself these days, i work for the largest cocoa
processor and ingredient chocolate supplier in North America, yea yea here
comes the willy wonka jokes lol from the cocoa been to finished product we
do it all, mainly bulk supply the new line is what they call a drop line,
once the chocolate process is done, we take and run it through what they
call a temper machine, tempering chocolate is an actual science check it
out some time, melts in your mouth not in your hands
Understandable each to their own, like I mentioned just my opinion, the
hardest part to swallow is lol I shouldn’t say swallow and antifreeze in
the same sentence, seeing all the issues first hand correlating to
complaints filed, lawsuits directed at dexcool more than any other (search
it will blow your mind) I chose not to take any more chances yrs ago and
stopped recommending, however im not no chemistry expert and still use what
the customers prefers, wouldn’t use it in my truck just saying
Thank you, missed you guys as well
Hi Will and welcome back. Nice job and you seem to be more relaxed in this
video. What kind of process does the plant that you work at have? Good to
hear that your company is doing some expanding instead of closing the doors
like a lot of them do.
what model is your 19.5V craftsman? Thank for the vid..
welcome back i missed your informative videos
Excellent video. I will take issue with the Dexcool thing, though. I’ve
replaced hundreds (if not thousands) of TBI 5.7/5.0 intake gaskets that
predate dex coolant. It is my opinion that the problem is more with the
crappy nylon backed gaskets rather than the coolant (not to mention lack of
maintenance by their owners). Every 5.7 I’ve fixed with the second design
metal backed gasket had no issues even with Dex. Super crappy design either
way, with only 4 bolts holding the lower intake on.
Thank you i appreciate that 🙂
Good to see you again (:
19.5V craftsman 1/2 inch drive
Thank you, i appreciate that
🙂 happy to be, hope i can pick back again
hes back!!!
Welcome back Will!!
What impact are you using exactly?
Thank you
Welcome back
