This tutorial is amazing! My daughter bought an 07 cobalt, 105k miles, and
a week later it wouldn’t start. Had it towed to an indy who told us it had
jumped time and was going to cost minimum $2500. Had it towed back home
and, since my husband and I are handy with a wrench and not afraid to
tinker under the hood, we found your video and tackled it. Low and behold,
after a timing chain kit, oil change, and new plugs, it started right up!
LOVE IT! Can’t thank you enough! We especially liked your exchange with the
big bug 🙂
I watch your video. I have replaced my balance shaft chains and sprockets
and timing chain and sprockets. I followed the instructions for the Cloyes
balance shaft timing, but now I have a vibration in the motor. Do you know
the procedure, the balance shafts rotate two times for every rotation of
the crank. so I need to get the shafts in phase to cancel out the
vibration. I don’t have a service manual. I rely on You tube. Found an
Opel training video but the guy Josip Stanic speaks either Russian or
German and I don’t understand the language. Any info would be appreciated.
I’ve watched your video twice but you don’t show the installation
procedure. Thanks, Carey Underhill
Hey man great video, I’ve got to do this on my 2005 chevy classic with the
same eng.
Thanks for the heads up on what I’m getting myself into. I can’t beleave
the time you spent making this video. GREAT JOB.
If you turn over the engine to break the crank bolt, it wouldn’t be TDC
anymore right?.. Thats where I’m at now and I’m hesitant to do it.
Thank you for the guide. been extremely helpful on my wifes cobalt. was
wondering what kit you got for the replacement parts though?
Helpful video but I cant get past your caveman grunts and snorts.
Very detailed video except, you forgot to mention what size the socket was
you used to remove the timing chain tensioner.
Man… Where are you located ? I need this done to my cobalt. Some people
here In DC can’t get past the damn cover.lol
Dude, where the hell is your info?
