Trying to find lower control arms for that things is nigh impossible. FE5 suspension is a joke finding parts for it.
Gm ecotech motors are my favorite flavor of pain. Easily the least reliable modern engine.
My 2.2 06 hhr threw 3 chains in 110k miles, then bent the valves due to total timing tensioner failure from 3 DIFFERENT makers. Oil changed 3500 miles or less its wholelife….DOGSHIT tensioner design
Ok, I dont get why he had that reaction when the chain went right back onto that sprocket?
My old cobalt SS with the same engine had the wastegate actuator break during a pull, the wastegate closed completely, while I had the pedal metal, needless to say that the chain did stretch a LOT
Never follow the manufacturer guide for oil changes. they are designed to make the car fail right after you are out of warranty. If your manual says every 5k miles, cut it in half. Do the same with your transmission fluid and coolant. If you live in the north, get the underside of your car cleaned often in the winter. Watch your car last 400k miles. (Some brands and models will not. Jeep, Ford, Dodge, GMC etc. The emissions regulations have forced them to make complicated engines that suck.)
