Get an Allen wrench tap it in hole to release and reset a code to run correctly

@Paul-h9h4s says:

@kurtgood2914 says:

Good mechanic

@joshhibschman says:

wait chevy made 5.3l's as a straight 5 cylinder?

@MrKL83 says:

Will this give a P0300 and a P0301?

@paquesepas6696 says:

I thought stuck lifters was caused by bad oil like taking too long between oil changes? I have a gmc 2007 5.3L and my lifter on cylinder 7 got stuck. I have them all out now and will replace all of them. What do you recommend to make sure my afm lifters dont do this again? Im gonna buy a new updated vlom as well. Thank you.

@eligiomeraz0683 says:

You mean pulling the head up not just the intake, cause the lifters are under the head.

@x_DEUS_VULT_x says:

P0300-P0308
Stuck AFM lifters.
And the lifters are under the heads, not the intake.
New camshaft and set of lifters.
I did so many of these at the dealership during these year model run, I could do the job in my sleep.

@JosephColon-wy1ii says:

@michaelcastaneda4135 says:

My ford mustang 04 the lifters are easy to get too

@jelanygetmoney6110 says:

Good morning. Will you make a video pulling the intake and undticking the lifter?

@otterchaos666 says:

How much for the repair?

@stevenkleinhenz1017 says:

Looks to clean and new for failure!

@Alex-sd6mc says:

It sucks because I've disabled the AFM in my Tahoe, and I'll still have a collapsed lifter every 100k miles or so. (320k miles currently).

It's honestly not a difficult job at all. It's just a lot of steps. That doesn't negate the fact that i hate engineers though for designing the AFM. lol

@ALCRAN2010 says:

It helps ton know what year this is.

@workct4102 says:

Engine looks clean at least

@schlick93ify says:

My 2010 Silverado 4.8l just developed a lifter issue, it’s got the P0301 cylinder #1 misfire code, I just paid the truck off, I got the truck with 90k miles it’s got 190k now so I paid all that money for a truck that only lasted me a 100k miles I’m so pissed! I never owned a vehicle that developed major engine issues this is the 1st, I’m a Chevy guy but they ripped me off on this truck so they just lost a customer I’m getting a Toyota tundra f*ck Chevy there junk now!

@rubenvasquez021 says:

Let me finish what he forgot to mention you cannot access the lifter by just pulling the intake the heads have to come off and and if it’s an AFM have to replace it with the same kind of lifter people will mistake a misfire code with a collapsed lifter

@montewestlund8880 says:

Chevy start to make junk just like Ford. Time to start boycotting Chevy too.

@ricktotz4078 says:

And people still buy the crap

@Godsoldier says:

oh man i wish i check that before removing it, what was the engine doing? was it having a miss fire and no compression, that's what's going on with mine with the same cylinder, i just post it a reel on it, makes me want to put it back and check, I'm replacing it.

@hislove4me3 says:

Where are you located

@elmeromero3578 says:

Head is coming out soon

@JM-lk6wo says:

The failure must be due to AFM, not one of GM's best ideas.
