robinsonsauto says:

Thank you for the compliments, yea i meant to do a side by side comparison
at the end then it slipped my mind, night and day difference, i agree the
3400 are pretty reliable and not to bad to work on as well, thanks again

Good video man

robinsonsauto says:

Thank you, yea its one of those things, i run into allot of alignment
issues in the industrial field as well…can cause some major issues, good
luck with the retro fit

estrelladelnorte1308 says:

you are back! nice!

robinsonsauto says:

Thank you

CoolasIce2 says:

I think you’re right. They probably used a puller on the outer ring, or
didn’t use a puller at all, just pryed up on the outer part. Good video and
fix.

epiphaknee says:

Great video and great camera work! You could really see the wobble in the
harmonic balancer. The before and after shots speak volumes. The 3400 is a
great engine (other than that pesky intake manifold), so I was interested
in learning what the problem might be. Love the new sign in the shop too!!

robinsonsauto says:

Thank you for the compliments, yea its been to ling sorry about that,
working on a new series as we speak, thanks again

Kevin Koehler says:

Thanks for sharing; it’s a good tidbit to keep in the back of my mind! It
seems like GM 4.3’s always have squeaking belts. I wonder if they have some
epidemic problem.

Nick C says:

hey great video, very helpful. I have a 2005 Impala, 3400 and a bad
balancer. (it’s wobbly and causing my belt tensioner to bounce up and down)
I’m also going to use this as an opportunity to replace my crankshaft
position sensor. It’s original, and I work at NAPA so I can pick one up
pretty cheap.. thank you for another informative, and well put together
video

robinsonsauto says:

Thank you, sorry for the delay missed you guys, feels good to see the
positive feedback thanks again

Steve Rob says:

Fantastic camera shots, made all the difference. Been a while, looking
forward to more great repair vids. Thanks.

robinsonsauto says:

Thank you, feels good to be back, going to try and get a video up a week,
any recombination on the best day/time to post?

bestmastermind951 says:

so basically the person but the balencer backwards causing the belt issue?
or did u just grab the balencer nd flip it around? i got a lil confused
sorry

robinsonsauto says:

Thank you, nice to see some missed me, glad to be back

CoolasIce2 says:

Any 12 year old should know to pull the balancer from the inner ring. It’s
too bad there weren’t any 12 year old available to help the mechanics when
they attempted to fix the sensor.

Erich Pink says:

Great video! Glad to see your posting again.

robinsonsauto says:

🙂 better late than never lol

vrsca89 says:

Hi Will, great to see you’re making videos again!

Rowland Anderson says:

Glad your back!! Great video!

Donald Bain says:

Hey good to see you back 🙂 and with a promise of some good videos to come,
looking forwards to them and this is a good one too, over here if you buy
your timing belt from the dealer for my Galant, they tell you to replace
the harmonic balancer at the same time, perhaps now I can see why as they
said that they can fail. Thanks for sharing

robinsonsauto says:

Its mainly an assumption of mine that the wrong puller was used, i would
like to hope i was wrong

robinsonsauto says:

Hello, thank you sorry for the delay in videos… thank you for the
positive feedback

johntracey523 says:

Nice piece of troubleshooting Will. Sad you have to fix what others already
“fixed”. That’s me too. Have to leave Monday evening for Columbus OH to
redo a job that was done wrong in 2006 by another technician. A retrofit
was done 6 years ago and older parts that were supposed to be replaced,
never were. The System has been operating poorly but recently the customer
tightened their spec and the system misalignment was seen to be a major
issue. Should be able to get it lined up good w/new parts

robinsonsauto says:

Hello, thank you feels good to be back

RZGOBLIN says:

Happy to see you back Will

robinsonsauto says:

Your welcome, yea its a good possibility one thing i have found more than
any with gm is faulty belt tensioner, over time from the constant spring
load they start coming apart hence creating a misalignment issue, thats
another good spot to look

Hey Will, I’m glad you’re posting videos again…looking forward to them!
