Install CHEAP Cruise Control in your GM vehicle!

Install CHEAP Cruise Control in your GM vehicle!

***EDIT: Seach http://www.rostra.com/ for your car to see if you just need a new stalk like mine, or a whole add-on module.
I apologize in advance for the jiggle-cam.
Cheap ‘Stock’ aftermarket cruise control for your GM/Chev vehicle. My truck is a 2003 Sierra 1500 base model, but this -should- work for many 1998-2007 models of Chev and GMC, Envoy’s, Yukon’s, Silerado’s, etc, and other vehicles of the same series. Let me know if this exploit works for you!! Get out there and experiment!!

Tools required:
-Common sense
-10mm socket
-T25 Ball-end OR T20 and T25 Torx drivers
-Electrical contact cleaner

This makes sense; a lot of software and electronic things, clothes washers, cameras, etc, are produced the same way, with features present, but disabled/hidden in firmware.
Why would they reprogram the ECU differently rather than a single interchangeable unit? Same goes for the wiring harness.

By the way, I’m not responsible if your ECM somehow gets fried… I’m just a guy on the internet.

Tried doing this on a 2006 express van. Have the multi switch in and fuse in the cc spot but no cruise working. Never lights up. Any ideas or where to look? I’ve tried forum surfing and found very little info on vans.

Great video thanks. As an FYI, I have an '05 Sierra 2500HD work truck and the plug for the cruise control was not in the harness. I also had to take the steering wheel off to get to the second torqs bolt

you failed to mention this apparently only works for V8. based off several forums Ive read, its not plug and play or as simple if you have the dreaded 4.3L V6 🙁

Johnny Doey says:

Cool video. Now swap in a 2500hd instrument cluster so you can have the transmission temperature gauge.

Dr Kennedy says:

Cost me $13 to add it this way! Thanks! My fuse block even had the fuse already
