checking properly.

teeth from previous malfunctioning starters, it will affect how the new
starter performs!

But if the Flywheel teeth are damaged due to long-life/usage will it cause
problems regardless of shimming?

why only 60% engagement? seems like the steel would wear faster with less
area?

The reason for only wanting 60% engagement is so that there is not too much
strain placed on the starting motor due to binding. Having this amount of
engagement ensures that the minimal amount of wear happens between the
flexplate or flywheel and the starter gear. Thanks for watching! Please let
