Good video. My 97 Lumina is metric. The filter is 20mm and the line is 16mm.
I followed your instructions on my 1996 Buick Regal and thanks to you, it was a 'walk in the park'! Thank you so much for posting. I thought I needed a new fuel pump, but the filter was just super dirty. I'm going to hold off on the pump replacement. It might not need it now. Thanks again!
Full tank of gas
NICE VIDEO..FORREALS!
Do you have to pull the fuel filter fuse before you do this
Thanks for the video. Appreciate your help! God bless and Carry On!!!
Great video here, and gives me an idea what my 97 Lumina gas filter
looks like. My car only has 60,000 miles on it, so it should be ok still,
or maybe needs changing. I was surprised filters just have paper in
them, as shown in your other video.
Just wondering if your located in the Southern US, like California, or
Texas, as the underside of your Lumina looks OK for rust – not too bad
at all.
I have a 2001 Olds Aurora, and I'm thinking of changing the filter, and
I think I should let the shop do it, as I'm not that handy like you are.
Now is this the same setup on a 99 park avenue?
I do assembly for GM. Those wrenches should be metric.
Thank you Sir! Just did this today on a 2000 Cavalier. I might recommend a couple of things: 1) Hit the fittings with PB Blaster or some form of penetrating oil a day or two before, but certainly the night before; 2) I removed the fuel pump relay under the hood and tried to start it about 4 times to reduce the built up pressure in the lines; 3) I used tubing wrenches to remove so as not to dog ear the nuts (I had both metric and SAE wrenches); 4) I used two wraps of Teflon tape on the threads of the fuel line to keep from having a leak. Mine had 102K miles and was factory original. The car was occasionally stumbling and I was in there to replace the original fuel pump. Preventatively, I prepared to change out the fuel filter with a Wix brand which I like and when I tried to blow through the old filter, it was nearly impossible. That poor old pump must have really struggled. Good lesson on just changing those things out every 20K or so. Thanks again.
Good video and helpful. I thought you are supposed to remove the fuel pump relay and run the car until it stalls from a lack of gas? Then remove the fuel filter? Might save you from getting soaked.
GREAT Video- … Short, Sweet & Direct… THANK YOU
25 seconds on the nut side, and 20 min on the clip…yes a jack helps.
Thanks for the video… very helpful!!!
