Get Some says:

Sometimes with the longer bolt the seal gets smashed a little bit so careful that the threads are met with your depth location ….. clean car by the way 2 doors light weight brakes traction catches grip equals a hell of a lot more force on those cranks when them tires bite that pulley bolt gear and keyway lock and timing chain take some good directional force and they can go snap like a mofo if theres play and if theres any tolerance for movement your losing the balancer most times they will find they're way out the bolt gets on there hard sometimes but sometimes they back themselves out even easier in comparison to then how hard they are to sometimes remove long bolt can cause seal to squish a enough to take some of its integrity away and once oil finds it's way any pressure escapes that seal….. time for new one

Get Some says:

I like to use a new woodruff key when I do a balancer on any small block engine anything full size engine I just think a new key woodruff is a safe bet they are made kind of soft and get a lot of torque on the little things

How do you torque the balancer down without the engine rotating, I’ve heard of it’s on car to put it in gear but I’m also concerned that it could damage transmission. Any feedback ?

I used a torch to lightly heat the balancer and slid it all the way on with no problem sloppy mechanics style. Some put it in the oven at 300 for 20 minutes…been watching your channel for awhile now but subscribed todayyyyyyyyyyyyyy….oooh weeee
