Christopher Brown says:

Wow! This idea just saved me some money and a few headaches! It was so easy and so quick! I used Gorilla Glue, a very small amount, spread generously, and didn’t even wait 20 seconds. It worked perfectly! Thanks Trando!

OMG YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH EASIER YOU JUST MADE MY LIFE!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

butchtropic says:

Neat idea, but hopefully the glue does not come loose over time and cause a short, potentially ruining the FOB, there are replacement rubber parts available for around $6, I would order one and once it came in replace it. FOB’s are subject to a lot of heat, getting knocked around, for $6 it’s worth the peace of mind IMO..

It worked perfectly! Very easy too! I had just about given up on these cheezy remotes and resigned myself to the inconvenience of not having them. Now I will think of your great advice every time I push the button and the lock pops open! Thank you!

I just want to say you are a genius! My key fob has’nt worked in over a year. After watching this easy fix along with about 15 minutes of my time because I used super glue, I saved 200.00 that the dealership wanted to charge.

connections25 says:

works PERFECT!! You saved me almost 200 bucks! Thanks a bunch!!

Kate Conant says:

I didn’t have any good glue so stuck a dot on a folded over tape. Ir works.

Pat Fellner says:

You are a genius. It worked like a charm. Saved me from going to the dealership.

Netflixry says:

Both of my Pontiac G6 remotes stopped working, and haven’t worked for more than a year. Of course I changed out the batteries, but still that didn’t fix them. I just did this fix exactly as you showed, but used a tiny dot of super glue to attached the little foil dots. I can tell you first hand, this simple little trick works like a charm. Thanks a bunch, you just saved me about $100 to replace both remotes with aftermarket remotes. Awesome simple little fix. Thanks a bunch!

dbrant8 says:

Great idea on using the hole punch!! I was going to try to cut out foil with scissors but that wasn’t gonna work so well. Dots are perfect size for GM Malibu 2004. I used a floss toothpick to spread the glue and apply the foil. Worked great!! Thanks

William Lanning says:

My dealer wanted 175.00 for a new fob and program. He said it was 1/2 hour labor. Your info worked to perfection. Two dots of tin foil, a little Gorilla Glue, (all I had) fob like brand-new!!!
Thanks a bunch, U R a lifesaver!

Bev Dobbs says:

THANK YOU THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUU you just saved me $165.00 from the dealer

Bryan Grenn says:

This worked great for me.. What I did was use Hem tape (used for sewing). it is a very thin 2 sided tape. I stuck a piece of tape to a piece of foil, then punched out holes. I took the back off the tape, and stuck it to buttons on remote, 5 minutes later, I was off. No need to wait for glue to dry.

kozmoderf says:

Fantastic! I followed your instructions for my 2008 Pontiac G6, and it works great. Good job on the video too. Do you have any idea how long the foil will last? Many thanks. I appreciate not only your expertise, but your helping nature as well.
