Fantastic car. I rode in one when I was in high school that had the LS in it here in the states. Comfortable, fast and very quiet surprisingly.
Next day we were rear ended and the car (I believe) was totaled out 🙁
Couple years later I saw the same guy driving it fixed, this time cammed, full exhaust, intake manifold and intake, and a tune on it… car sounded rowdy. Cool cars but damn near impossible to find a clean example these days. If I was gonna buy one it would have to be an LS.
Isn't the Chevrolet SS and the Chinese Buick Park Avenue the same car? I thought the SS went until 2017? Great video!

The Holden commodore was rebadged as the Chevy SS after the Pontiac name was retired. They made them up until a year ago.

So in 2004-2006, GM tried to "relaunch" the GTO brand by importing the coupe version of Holden's Aussie mean machine. But they fumbled it horribly, possibly in an effort to one-up what they did to the Nova name plate in the 1980s. Which was excusable given what Dodge tried with the Charger nameplate in the 80's as well. Having failed to connect performance with such the fiercely powerful GTO name, arguably on of the most iconic cars in the pantheon of Detroit iron, they figured 2 years later, hey, let's just try bringing in the 4 door version of that car and we'll dovetail it into the G-__ branding system. Because everyone will know that the G8 is like the GTO but better? Nope. G8 is a bunch of woke world leaders sitting around in a summit setting carbon emission caps. It's about as performance sounding as a pair of depends diapers.
I'm actually looking for a low mile V8 G8 hopefully in black but that Red is really good looking too
