Cleaned off the buttons and mine works now.

Lalandnina101 says:

whats the website to order some fix pads for my gm remote?

KingVee44 says:

Sadly, not made for the older models fobs. 🙁

MutR says:

you can use foil tape thats used for air ducts. its thick foil duct tape that sticks to anything and will not come off.

Steve Poindexter says:

Mine works!! Thanks!

MrBesniq says:

thanks guys! very helpfull.

Gordon James says:

sounds like the foil is a good temp solution while waiting for the pas in the mail.

keylessfix says:

We also sell the Maxell 2032 batteries that fit in these remotes, and the holder that holds the battery on the circuit board. Check our website for all of our products.

keylessfix says:

We sell them on our website.

keylessfix says:

we sell them on our website.

keylessfix says:

We started out repairing remotes with foil like this 4 years, but it doesn’t last and people always come back and complain. Eventually the foil comes loose and starts moving around and locking and unlocking your doors on its own. It is very hard to glue anything to silicon rubber (what the rubber pad is made from), even with crazy glue. Plus it is messy, time consuming and you have to buy crazy glue. This is why we developed our Keylessfix pad.

Bianca Marks says:

I have the battery…I just need the HOLDER for the battery.

Gordon James says:

most PCs use this ind of battery

Gordon James says:

Here is another fix.
open remote and remove circuit board
tear a small piece of tin foil (1 cm square)
fold 4 times
glue this small square on to the button with super glue
repeat for each button
reassemble
total cost – less than 5 cents.

keylessfix says:

Yes it is. Look for the ‘Complete Remote Repair’ section under our ‘Products’ listing on our website.
Thanks

jamierocks42 says:

is it possible to mail in remotes to be maintained by you guys?

keylessfix says:

I would start with getting your remote repaired. Your remote plays a role in the security alarm of your car. We have repaired 1000’s of these remotes, and I know that certain problems inside will cause issues like you describe. Check our website for the different options of remote repairs that we have.
Once your remote is working good then you can see if there is still an issue with the alarm.
Contact us if you need more info since replies on here can only be short.
Thanks

My 2007 Grand prix is having panic alarm issues. If i take the key out of the ignition it randomly starts the panic alarm. My remote is completely unresponsive. Any ideas on whats up?

harpern96 says:

OMG!!! IT WORKS…DEALERSHIP WANTED TO CHARGE ME $100 TO REPLACE MY REMOTE.

80ottman says:

Also, if you take a hole punch and punch out holes of aluminum foil and super glue them to the rubber tabs, you can save the $13 for the plastic insert…. Just saying…..

mavness says:

Worked like a charm! Thank you so much!

bunntime says:

Thank you so much! I did the same and it worked perfectly!

74DTucker says:

Thank you sooo much!!! Your product is fantastic! The video was a great help too! With the colder weather coming…Ill be glad to have my remote starter working! Thanks again.

spuls5 says:

Just got mine in the mail yesterday. Put them into one key fob and works like a charm. I got a 2nd one for my spare key fob but I’m lending it to a friend to test in his so he can order some as well. Now I will have 2 working key fobs again. Thanks.

bpaterni says:

Thanks you! Your product really does work, no joke. My spare key fob from the dealer never did work and I finally got around to resoldering the battery connections recently. No luck still. After additional troubleshooting, I discovered the problem was the button pads. The dealer wanted to sell me a new fob for $80. Instead I found this video and fixed my perfectly good transmitter for ~$15

pmbarro says:

Thanks guys!! I was on my second remote and I got upset when that one stopped working too. You guys saved me some serious cash!

johnroqkz says:

i actually took a little bit of aluminum foil and fixed it for $0.00 but if tht begins to fail i will surely buy your product.

Raymond Li says:

Thank you for sharing this video I was going to spend $207 at a car dealer ship. For a new keyless remote. Then I found this for $12.95 and place an order for my 06 chevy uplander LT so thank you so much.

Shygiirl87 says:

Thanks for sharing this video. I have a 2007 Chevy uplander and the battery holder always falls out of place I am thinking about placing an order with u guys 🙂

calgunner says:

This is just what I’m looking for. I just picked up a 2011 Malibu, and the unlock button on the remote doesn’t. Placing an order for two of these now. Thanks.

urliltigr says:

Where did you find the rubber buttons? Mines ripped…

Bianca Marks says:

Where can i get another battery holder because i lost the original one?

My problem was the unlock button had worn out on my 2005 Grand Prix, & it was extremely difficult to get it to work. I saw this post and tried the foil. The foil cause the button to work, but waaayyy too much. It would keep unlocking the doors with the slightest touch (in my pocket, brushing against something). The foil is a BAD IDEA! I bought this keylessfix insert and now the fob works like new. Absolutely worth it.

Jack Mack says:

Got mine yesterday. Works perfectly and let’s hope it lasts. This was the reason I purchased this instead of a replacement rubber keypad which costs the same. I had the feeling the rubber pad would start this again soon.

missfiveday says:

I commented on this video before about an unresponsive FOB for a 2005 pontiac grand prix….changed the battery, electronics store soldered it, nothing worked….until months later when we traded in the car, the guy pressed the button and the car started, it worked all of a sudden out of the blue!!

manwap says:

solder on battery holder fixed ours.thanks, very informative vid. 5stars
