GM use to be a chip producer, but the idiots at GM sold it off years ago! Delco electronics use to be one of the biggest automotive electronics manufacturers including making chips in the states ,Korea & Singapore
I always had problems with GM and it’s usually something stupid like this. It’s been 20 years since I had one so don’t remember the details except needing a certain GM wrench changing the alternator. That’s a small thing but it’s all the other things that go wrong unique to GM.
Not a GM fan but Toyota is also having problems not getting enough chips for their vehicles. Tacomas and Tundras for example are very hard to get because they dont have the chips for them.

Hi scotty. Will I know if you answer my question? I live in bangor maine and drive a 2007 XC70 volvo. When I start it. Some times it dies just after it starts. Does it have something to do with the air flow sensor

Hey Scotty, got a real good question for ya! I own a 2000 Mercury grand Marquis, now has around 111,000 miles on it, Florida car now in Ohio. Just did a tune up after she hit 100K because it got a misfire, well now on less than 11,000 after my tune up my engine is once again misfiring, any ideas of what could be causing this?

IBM thought they should build everything, where are they now. Intel builds everything on their own, next in line after IBM. Building everything yourself is not a guarantee for success.

I had leased a 2015 RC350 when it came out. While it looked great and was built well, it was truly a POS where it counted. It looked sporty but had a incredibly underpowered engine. Not only was it a pig, it had poor gas mileage and I don't think I ever got better than 19mpg in the 2 years I drove it. Adding to the pile, it had a really small tank and would go 225 to 240 miles on full tank of 14 gallons??
It did have a great interior, an amazing mark levinson sound system. But it failed where it counted. Sure it'll likely be reliable but no one buys a sports car that drives like a turtle.
That's why people go to BMW and other makers. Unreliable as they may be, but damn are they fun to drive.
Scotty, Greeting from Detroit Michigan. I want a daily driver that I can cruise in the city with. I'm looking t a 2013 Lincoln MKZ with 130,000 miles and a 2013 Lexus ES with almost 200,000 miles, both around 11k. Which one should I get?
