I was wondering if I should cut them off. There you have it, OFF THEY SHALL GO!

MrDCJSr. says:

Man I am so happy I found this video. Today was a disaster with my car not starting due to the battery covering on the negative cable. The funniest thing is I was going to order new coverings and thanks to you I changed my mind. Tomorrow I'm going to take the cover off and see if starting the car returns to being normal and report back to this thread.

Ben Rillo says:

If that was the problem how did it work fine for so many years? Just curious. I just serviced my plastic battery terminal hoods with dielectric grease and a wire brush clean them up nicely but they were corroded quite badly. Put new terminal bolts on both sides too

Rickey Bailey says:

Wow I've been stuck in a Walmart parking lot for a week now wondering what could be the problem I was about to pay for a diagnostic test and check all the fuses and relays. I'm going to remove them tomorrow.
